Characteristics of Good Leaders

ConfidentA good leader must have the confidence to make judgments to reach a goal, make a hard decision, or make a different plan.



ResponsibleA good leader must be responsible for all activities of the group.



MotivatorA good leader must have the ability to encourage all people involved in the team, as well as themselves.



FlexibleA good leader must be able to change ideas, directions, or people if required to reach the goal.



CommunicatorA good leader must be able to easily and clearly explain their ideas to the group.



OrganizedA good leader must be organized in order to maintain the group, activities of the group, and goals.



PlannerA good leader must be able to plan the basic activities of the group, and other things needed to reach the group’s goal.


Requirements of a Good Team

• Leader- head of the team• Members- people who carry out the tasks• Timeline- length of time necessary to carry

out the tasks• Results- shows how well the tasks were

completed


What Makes A Team?

A team could be a group of people that• Plays a sport• Develops a product• Plans an activity• Has a common interest


Sports Team

• Leader- the coach• Members- players

that perform a specific task

• Timeline- a schedule of games

• Results- statistics


Manufacturing Team

• Leader- head of production

• Members- workers who perform the task

• Timeline- schedules for production

• Results- tracking team productivity


Team Leader

• Assigns members tasks• Encourages team

members to perform• Sets the work schedules

and maintains time requirements

• Focuses on team results


Team Member

• Performs given tasks or skills as assigned

• Maintains timeline by performing tasks on time

• Remains committed to performing task

• Works to reduce conflict in team• Focuses on the results of their

efforts
