Flexsafe® Pro Mixer Compatibilities Between Mixing Bag Designs and Palletank for Mixing Old and New Generations

Technical Note ScopeFlexsafe® Pro Mixer comes with a new generation of Palletank for Mixing. This new generation of Palletank for Mixing will also be offered together with the Flexsafe® LevMixer® and Flexsafe® Magnetic Mixer Bags.

This technical report describes the compatibilities between themixing bag designs and the Palletank for Mixing old and newgenerations.

1. IntroductionFlexsafe® Pro Mixer comes with a new generation of Palletank for Mixing. This new generation will replace the Palletank for Mixing old generation.

This new generation of Palletank for Mixing is compatible with the Flexsafe® LevMixer® and Flexsafe® Magnetic Bags.

1.2 Retrofit Kit

When the Flexsafe® Pro Mixer bag is compatible with the Palletank for Mixing old generation, a retrofit kit needs to be mounted onto the Palletank’s rails to allow the coupling between the Pro Mixer Drive unit and the Palletank.

The enlargement of the port gate allows a Flexsafe® Pro Mixer bag design with maximum 4 front ports (pH, conductivity, thermowell and sampling) and | or maximum 4 drain valves.

The sensors and lines positioning are fixed in the Flexsafe® Pro Mixer bag design:

2.1 Pro Mixer Drive Unit

a) Palletank for Mixing old generation without jacketThe Pro Mixer Drive unit is compatible with the Palletank for Mixing old generation when it is designed without Jacket.

A retrofit kit need to be mounted onto the Palletank’s rails to allow the coupling between the Pro Mixer Drive unit and the Palletank for Mixing old generation.

Even though the Pro Mixer Drive unit is compatible, please refer to the section 2.2, to determine if the Flexsafe® Pro Mixer bag design is compatible with the Palletank for Mixing old generation.

b) Palletank for Mixing old generation with jacketThe Pro Mixer Drive unit is not compatible with the Palletank for Mixing old generation with Jacket.

2.2 Palletank for Mixing 50L to 1,000L: Front Port Design ImprovementOne key improvement of the Palletank for Mixing new generation is the port gate enlargement for the 200L to 1,000L sizes to allow more sensors options on the front of the mixing bag as well as more drain valves for the bottom lines.

50L and 100L still offer only 2 front ports option as the bag dimensions do not allow more than 2 front ports and 2 drainvalves.

2.3 Palletank for Mixing Large Volume: Impeller PositionIn the Palletank for Mixing Large Volume, the Pro Mixer impeller position is different than the LevMixer® and Magnetic Mixer impeller position.

Therefore: - The Flexsafe® Pro Mixer bag is not compatible with the Palletank for Mixing Large Volume old generation - The new generation of Palletank for Mixing Large Volume includes two adapter plates to be compatible with the Flexsafe® Pro Mixer bag as well as the Flexsafe® LevMixer® and Magnetic Mixer bags
