Summer 2018 timetable – Valid from 25 march 2018 to 27 october 2018

›  Sichuan Airlines – new Chinese airline: Zurich Airport is set to welcome a new airline in summer 2018. Sichuan Airlines, based at China’s economic powerhouse Chengdu, will fly to Zurich via Prague. The thrice weekly Airbus A330 flights will take off from Zurich at 11.25 a.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, and will land in Chengdu at 6.15 a.m. the following day. Return flights from Chengdu, also renowned as Panda City, depart at 2.00 a.m. and, after a stop in Prague, land in Zurich at 9.55 a.m. Thanks to this route, passengers in both directions also benefit from a direct flight between Prague and Zurich.

›  Edelweiss – two new long-haul routes: This summer sees the Swiss leisure travel airline add two new longhaul destinations to its network. From 4 June 2018, Edelweiss will fly twice a week to Denver, the capital of the US state of Colorado. Denver is a popular starting point for trips to the Rocky Mountains and offers outdoor sports enthusiasts extensive opportunities for hiking, climbing and mountain biking tours in the region. Starting 22  September 2018, Edelweiss will be operating a new flight to the Seychelles on Saturdays. From the international airport on the island of Mahé, boats then take tourists on to the white sandy beaches and crystalclear waters of the archipelago’s resorts.

›  Air Canada – nonstop to Vancouver: From 15 June 2018, Air Canada will be deploying a Boeing 777300 on its existing Zurich–Toronto route, which will increase capacity by 100 seats per flight. But that’s not all. Commencing 8 June 2018, Air Canada will fly nonstop from Zurich to Vancouver three times a week (Wednesday/ Friday/Sunday). The airline will operate a Boeing 787Dreamliner boasting a new lighting concept and fresh air inlets to enhance well being, especially welcome on very long flights. Vancouver airport is not only the gateway to the Whistler Mountains and Vancouver Island, it is also a popular transfer point for journeys to the United States as passengers can easily complete immigration formalities for the USA there.

›  United Airlines – daily to San Francisco: United Airlines is investing in a more modern fleet and from the end of April 2018 will be deploying only Boeing 787Dreamliners on its Zurich–Washington service. It is also expanding its route network with a daily flight between Zurich and San Francisco from 8 June to 27 October 2018. This route will also be served by a Boeing 7878, and will provide optimum onward connections to Hawaii from San Francisco as well. As a result of this expansion, during the summer timetable period United Airlines will be operating daily flights from Zurich to three destinations: San Francisco, Washington/Dulles and New York/Newark.

›  American Airlines – to Philadelphia hub: American Airlines will now be flying to its hub airport Philadelphia instead of New York. With this daily nonstop flight operating all year round, passengers will benefit from over 240 connecting flights to North and Central America and to the Caribbean. But the city affectionately known as Philly also has lots to offer itself, and not just since the Eagles triumphed at the Super Bowl either. Anyone who loves live music, openair cinema, beer gardens and art and music festivals will find themselves at home in this city, especially when transformed by the colourful Indian summer in the autumn.

›  SWISS – two French routes added, continuing to Wrocław, and service to Kiev resumed: SWISS is adding two popular tourist destinations in France to the 2018 summer timetable. From the end of March, the Swiss airline will operate a service from Zurich to Bordeaux, the wine mecca on the Garonne. It will offer a total of twelve flights a week, twice a day from Monday to Friday, and once a day on Saturdays and Sundays. From 21 April 2018, SWISS will also fly three times a week to Marseille. This important port and embarkation point for many cruise ships will be served with flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The direct flight to Wrocław – originally launched in the 2017/18 winter timetable – is to continue. Passengers will therefore continue to benefit from flights to southern Poland on three days a week during the summer of 2018. SWISS is also resuming its service, last offered in October 2014, to Ukraine’s capital city Kiev, with four direct flights a week.

›  Germania – once more taking off to summer resorts: Again this summer, Germania’s passengers will be able to enjoy nonstop flights to popular seaside destinations and cultural cities. Newly added to the summer timetable from May 2018 are flights to Corfu (once a week), Ibiza (four times a week), Tenerife (twice weekly) and Zadar (twice weekly). In total, Germania offers flights from Zurich to 19 destinations in Europe, North Africa and the Middle East.

›  Cyprus Airways – twice weekly to Larnaca: The startup with the distinctive green livery and olive branch puts everyone in the mood for sunshine and delicious Mediterranean cuisine. Cyprus Airways will operate a new service between Larnaca and Zurich between 26 May and 27 October 2018. Flights will depart Larnaca at 10.55 a.m. on Tuesdays and Saturdays, landing in Zurich at 1.50 p.m. In the opposite direction, flights will take off from Zurich at 2.50 p.m. and arrive in Larnaca at 7.15 p.m.

›  Laudamotion – from Zurich to southern climes: In cooperation with Condor, the Austrian airline will serve nine new holiday destinations with flights from Zurich. These include the popular Spanish islands of Mallorca, Ibiza, Fuerteventura and Lanzarote, plus three Greek islands, Corfu, Crete and Rhodes. It will also operate flights to the southern Italian cities of Olbia and Lamezia Terme.
