FLIGHT PLANNING SYSTEM SERVICE SUPPORT BY ASISTIM

ASISTIM offers the flight planning application as a hosted citrix solution with a high available and secure IT infrastructure, which is easy to access and only demands a minimum hardware requirement on the customer side. It can also be accessed from iPads and other tablets via a high secure VPN connection.

The advantage is a reduction of your own IT cost and a constant optimization of your flight planning system by the ASISTIM Back-Office Support.

The PPS System has an individual adaptable and scalable graphical user interface (GUI) that is based on a Microsoft look-and-feel, making it easy to use and self explanatory. Displayed sections can be moved around and scaled as preferred and will be saved when closing the application similar to Microsoft Outlook.

The PPS System will guide the user step by step through the calculation process displayed on the „Outlook similar“ sidebar. The status of the work flow will be shown with colored symbols and signals.

This graphical section is also scalable in size and movable as well. It displays different information to the flight dispatcher such as graphical display of the flight, the operational flight plan the ATC sheet or alternatively the fuel figures. As soon data are entered all results will immediately be shown and accessible to the dispatcher.

The flight planning system offers all modern features of an „up to date“ system. Through a most modern layout the features are quickly accessible. Implemented top-applications like GoogleEarth are included and accessible to give more information to the dispatcher. AMEXSY a modern communication tool gives quick access to the status of your flights in the CFMU. It furthermore allows you to send worldwide AFTN messages. All information are easy accessible via the CrewBriefing Internet Portal that is available for the dispatcher via the header bar.

The “Flight Data Summary” displays all relevant data and calculation results at a glance and is being updated instantly when new values are entered to the flight.

The flight logs are fully customizable to any favored format and will be displayed in its full if selected by the dispatcher on the appropriate tool bar. All results will be displayed, just like in the other section, immediately when data are entered or changed.

Available routes will be displayed in the categories: recently filed by other customers, CFMU proposed routes through an appropriate interface with Eurocontrol or routes from your own route catalogue . Route building can easily be done with the “Auto Route” function that takes restrictions into account i.e. RAD. Additionally you can copy/paste route strings from any other source into an empty route form. All displayed routes are featured with additional information such as cost, time, fuel burn and distance.

Crew data can be entered manually by the dispatcher or the system will be interfaced with your operations control system (example: AIMS, Netline, Sabre, etc). Together with the Aircraft data PPS will automatically calculate the Dry Operating Weight for this flight. This will allow the system to fully calculate flight plans automatically.

Speed profiles can be selected by the dispatcher for Climb / Cruise / Descent. Fuel profiles can be changed too, to fulfil requirements like max fuel planning, actual fuel planning or extra fuel planning. Lots of more options are available.

Additionally to the fuel profile you can change the taxi fuel value if needed (for example for bigger airports). The option to plan with a lower contingency by selecting an en-route alternate is also available. The system gives you an information about available airports according to EU-OPS requirements automatically. An easy to use RCF planning option is available as well, the system assist the dispatcher graphically, too.

In the “Mass & Balance” section the dispatcher has different options available to influence the used configuration of the aircraft i.e. different catering or PAX weight configurations. These are selectable via drop-down boxes. Furthermore it is possible to seat passengers in preferred compartments to allow a mass & balance calculation for the aircraft.

Due to its scalability the system is best used on a double screen workstation in flight dispatch. But the flexibility also allows the system to be used on a tablet PC with various operating systems like Windows, Android or Apple.

The flight list allows a clear overview of the flight that each dispatcher has to deal with. It can be sorted by different options like destination, aircraft registration or any other favored criteria.

The status bar delivers information whether the flight was uploaded to the CrewBriefing system and whether it was downloaded by the crew and at what time.

AMEXSY is an automatic internet based flight plan filling system that includes an ATC messaging tool interfaced with Eurocontrol to allow the reception of ATC related messages such as SLOT messages (i.e. SAM, SRM, SLC etc.), DLA, ACK and REJ messages. All required AFTN addresses for worldwide ATC FPL filing will be entered by the system automatically but offers in addition the option to add and remove individual addresses. As a quick reference to the dispatcher the actual flight plan status will be marked with different colors.

The web-based CrewBriefing platform offers various options for the crew and dispatcher to gather additional information. Flights can be grouped to minimize the text output which has to be checked by the crew i.e. Notam and airport weather information. All such information will be gathered automatically by the system and the newest information will be used automatically during the download.
