HOLIDAYS 2014Volume 8, Issue 3
Wreath winners Announced! This year’s winning wreaths featured a deconstructed “The Giving Tree” wreath, a “12 Days of Atlanta Christmas” wreath, and a “Big Brother Is Watching” drone-themed wreath! View all the wreaths at the “FloatawayCommunity” facebook page.
Floataway’s wreath decorating contest is a beloved holiday tradition that, we hope, invites much neighborly trash-talking while also
showcasing our community’s enormous creativity and adding a touch of festive decor to our hallowed halls. This year’s winning wreaths
embodied all the things we love best about the Floataway Community: creativity, craftsmenship, thoughtfulness, and spirit. Congratulations
to this year’s champions: Love & Light (First place, above), Luxe Linear Drains (bottom left) and Tunnell & Tunnell (bottom right)
Craving a creekside constitutional? You’ll find a
couple of perfect short hikes at nearby South Fork
Conservancy trails. The Confluence Trail (parking
at 2100 Armond Road), just off Cheshire Bridge
features underpass artwork and views of an off-
the-books skate park as well as the confluence
of North and South Peachtree Creek. Meanwhile,
just across the creek, The Cheshire Farm Trail has
recently received a much-needed footbridge. SFC
is currently raising funds in the hopes of con-
necting these two important trails. Learn more at

Drip, drip, drip. The sound plagues my sleep. 3AM, my eyes snap
open, I jolt upright, whirling around, looking for the source of the
leak. Maddening!
Floataway may not the most water-conscious property in the world,
but we do care about limiting water waste. Doing so helps us keep
your CAM costs under control, and we’re also interested — as
much as we can be in an older, repurposed building — in water
conservation.
Each quarter, Hernan inspects the fixtures in each suite and through-
out the common areas, checking for leaks. Whenever he finds a
sink dripping or a toilet running, we send notices to remind tenants
to keep their fixture in good repair. If the problem is occurring a
common area, such as a hose bib, or public restroom, we repair
it immediately. USGS.Gov reports that a single sink, dripping at a
rate of 1x per minute will waste 34 gallons of water per year. Mean-
while a “running” toilet can waste up to two gallons of water per
minute. By quickly spotting and repairing these issues in your suites,
you can help keep the community’s water costs reasonable, while
contributing to our overall conservation efforts. We really appreci-
ate your commitment to keeping Floataway as green as possible!
Let’s resolve to “Fix Those Leaks” in 2015, people!

CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR TENANT OF THE QUARTERCan anyone imagine the Floataway Community without Floataway
Cafe? We think not!
For being a truly iconic Floataway face, for supporting — and in
fact envisioning! — Nickel Bottom Garden, for supporting the com-
munity by hosting the occasional cocktail community social, and for
lending our community your well-earned excellence, we recognize
Floataway Cafe as our last 2014 “Tenant of the Quarter.”
