Edge Gate Valves, 2” To 24” size, 150 psi CWP, Sizes above 24” are not covered
under this standard. Additionally, resilient seated Knife Edge Gage Valves and
Slide Knife Edge Gate Valves are also not covered under MSS SP-81. These
products are subject to the individual manufacturer's internal testing & design
standard.
KNIFE EDGE GATE VALVE
“Flow-Tek” Knife Edge Gate Valve are designed for Isolation, On-Off and Throttling services in Paper and Pulp Industries, Power
Plants, Steel Plants, Cement Plants, Sugar Industries, Chemical and Textile Processing Industries, Mining, Food & Beverages, Bulk
Handling, Water and sewage Plants to handle Slurries, Slag, Pulp and Fibrous Materials, Fly Ash, Powders, Clean or Corrosive gases.
“Flow-Tek” product Knife Edge Gate Valves can be operated by Hand wheel (rising & non-rising stem), Lever also available
automated with Bevel Gear, Electric or Pneumatic Actuator for remote operation, Chain Wheels or Floor Stands can be used for
inaccessible areas. When needed, Lock-Out Devices can be provided to prevent accidental opening or closing of the valve. All
automated valves can be also provided accessories like Mechanical Stop Switches, Proximity Switches, Manual Override, Positioners,
Extended Stem and Solenoid Valves.

“Flow-Tek” Knife Edge Gate valves available designs are in Uni-Directional, Bi-Directional, “V” Notch Type & Square /
Rectangular Type designs & also as per client requirement tailor-made design.
MSS SP-81 requires the valve body (pressure vessel and related structure) to be designed for and hydrostatically pressure
tested to 1.5 times the rated working pressure.
*Valve rated pressure – 150 psi
*Body test pressure – 225 psi
MSS SP-81 requires the gate to be designed for and hydrostatically pressure tested to 1.1 times the rated working pressure.

MSS SP-81 has an allowable leakage rate (for metal to metal seated valves) of 40 cc per inch of diameter, per minute at 40
psi pressure. On a 12” valve this would be equal to 40 times 12, or 480 cc per minute at 40 psi. Maximum allowable leakage
of 06 GPM when tested with water at 40 psi applied in the normal flow direction. No visible leakage when tested with water
at 40 psi (for soft seated valves only.)

SWING TYPE CHECK VALVE:-
“Flow-Tek” Swing Type Check Valves are heavy duty, bolted cover, renewable seat ring, and body mounted disc swing type.
Valves are straight through flow which works automatically. They are opened by the force of velocity pressure closed by the force of
gravity and back pressure. The valves are single direction flow and restrains flow in opposite direction. Distortion, wear and noisy
operation of the valve can be avoided by selecting the size of the basis of flow conditions.
“Flow-Tek” Dual Plate Check Valves developed by us consists of a wafer type Body, Plates equipped with inlayed seal in dove tail
groove on body seat, corrosion spring and pin provided internally. The valve is so compact, that the face to face may be reduced to about
25% and weight to about 20% when compared to convention Swing Type Check Valves, which are not only bulky, expensive and difficult
to maintain, but also less durable.

DISC TYPE CHECK VALVE (NON-SLAM CHECK VALVE / SINGLE DISC CHECK VALVE)
“Flow-Tek” Disc Type Check Valve is spring loaded normally closed. The center guided disc is spring loaded. The once patented
feature that results in silent shut off is the relation of the disc to the seat when in the open position. This distance is approximately ¼ of the
valve size. It is the short disc travel distance coupled with the spring force that results in silent shut-off.

best pressure drop performance available in any check valves on the market. Compact design wafer type check valves are for silent

“Flow-Tek” make Forged Steel Lift Type Check Valves are available with bolted covers having spiral wound gaskets made of
Stainless Steel/graphite. The check valves are available in Piston Check or Swing Check valve designs.

“Flow-Tek” Strainers are typically used in applications where the amount of solids to be removed is small, and where
frequent clean-out is not required. They are most often installed in gaseous services such as steam, air, nitrogen, natural gas, etc.
The compact, cylindrical shape of the Y-strainer is very strong and can readily accommodate the high pressures that are common in
this type of service. Pressures up to 6000 psi are not unusual. When steam is being handled, high temperature can be an additional
complicating factor. A steam pressure of 1500 psi will often be found at temperatures of 1000°F.
Strainer has the advantage of being able to be installed in either a horizontal or vertical position. However, in both cases, the
screening element or "leg" must be on the "downside" of the strainer body so the entrapped solids can be properly collected and
held for disposal. Eaton heavy-duty Model 85 Y Strainers are furnished with high quality stainless steel screens that are carefully
fabricated to fit the strainer body perfectly. This, coupled with the precision machined screen seat on the body of the strainer,
protects against any bypass.

Y TYPE STRAINERS
“Flow-Tek” Y Type Strainers are one of the most common strainers present in the pipelines to handle small particles of dust. It is
suitable for removing the debris away from the pipeline in a systematic manner without causing any harm to the pipeline. As the
name highlights, Cast Y Type strainers are basically made up of cast steel. Apart from it, stainless steel or alloy steel acts as the
alternative for each other on several occasions. When it comes to dimensions of Cast Y Type strainers, its screwed ends/socket
weld ends is 0.5 inch to 2 inches whereas flanged ends/butt-weld ends ranges from 0.5 inch to 14 inches. Therefore, it has a
compact size that can fit various types of pipelines comfortably. Pressure rating of Cast Y Type strainers lies in between 150# and
1500#. This type of strainer is famous for its wall thickness which is as per API 600 and the ease of installation it renders due to
compact size and design.

“Flow-Tek” simplex basket strainer, fabricated simplex basket strainers have a basket shaped design with huge capacity of storing
debris. Made up of stainless steel or carbon steel, this type of strainers has a slant top basket design. The design helps the flow of
fluid technically because the slant top maintains low pressure drops. When it comes to the weight, fabricated simplex basket
strainers weigh lesser than other basket strainers. Due to low weight, labours find it easier to remove the slant top for cleaning
purposes.
A major turn on of this basket strainer is the optional presence of back -flush or backwash option. It works in a systematic way
without shutting down the system when there are heavy solid particles in the pipeline. An on/off back-flush valve is installed in the
strainer' bottom area and this opens when huge amount of debris gets accumulated at the bottom. Apart from back-flush, we also
offer various other modifications on basket strainers to provide the most suitable product to our clients.

DUPLEX BASKET STRAINERS :
“Flow-Tek” Duplex Basket strainer with three way ball valves is a member of the double basket strainers family. Like all the double basket
strainers, this strainer changes its basket when one gets heavy with the collected debris or dirt. It is, sometimes, called the advanced form
of double basket strainers because of the presence of 3 way ball valves. The valves are used to control the flow of fluids so that the
pressure can be maintained and the solid particles mixed with the fluid gets collected in the preferred basket

completely seal off the outlet nozzle at the inner vessel wall. This prevents solids from accumulating and solidifying in the outlet nozzle
neck and stopping discharge of the vessel contents. It also prevents the collection of un-reacted material in the nozzle.Flush Bottom Tank Valves have a modified 'Y' type body and Angel type design - with the stem being located in the vertical branch of the
valve. Seat and disc design is similar to that of a globe valve with metal to metal seating. The disc can lift up from the seat and open into
the vessel, or the disc can pull down from the seat and open into the valve.

on the elastomer sleeve. A rubber sleeve also known as rubber muff or tube is protected under a cast iron or aluminum body.
The inside of this rubber sleeve has no crevices or indentations to allow slurry compound to collect and dry into hard, sharp material.
Pinch valves resist clogging and are best suited for tough applications which clog in the pipeline. Pinch valves being glandless and
seat less with smooth interior construction lessen the chances of clogging considerably. Pinch valves can be operated by hand
wheels, pneumatic actuators, hydraulic actuators or electrical actuators.
Aluminum Body / Cast Iron, Pinch valves having Rubber Sleeves are extra heavy with full covering flanges preventing corrosion
on body and four reinforced pulling lugs for positive operation. The sleeve is internally completely reinforced.

simple and effective way to improve both your processes. Installation upstream of pressure reducing valves and steam meters
ensures accuracy and a long mechanical life.
It s always advisable to use steam with the maximum possible dryness fraction. Wet steam is a causeofmanyproblems including
corrosion, water hammer etc. Wet steam can also damage costly equipment like flow meters, control valves etc.
“Flow-Tek” moisture separators effectively remove the moisture from steam ensuring the highest dryness fraction at the outlet.
These moisture separators are available with IBR test certifications if required.
