Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. High near 70. Southeast wind 11 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New rainfall amounts between 1 and 2 inches possible. Showers and thunderstorms before 2am, then showers likely. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Low around 61. South wind 7 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New rainfall amounts between 1 and 2 inches possible. A chance of showers before noon. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 73. West wind 6 to 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. ADVISORIES, WATCHES OR WARNINGS: Radar indicated persistent rainfall spreading northward across the region. Rainfall in the last six hours has averaged around an inch with pockets around two inches. An additional inch of rain every two hours is expected through the morning, which will allow streams to continue to rise out of their banks and cause flooding of low-lying areas. Rain will continue through Thursday afternoon. There is potential of up to four inches of rain total by Thursday afternoon when the systems exits the area. A flood warning is in effect until 2:30 PM Wednesday. A flash flood watch is in effect at 10 pm tonight through Thursday, May 1 st at 6 am. A flood warning is also in effect for the Rappahannock River from Wednesday evening until Friday morning. The potential exists Wednesday for severe thunderstorms that will be capable of producing damaging wind gusts and a threat of isolated tornadoes. Thursday Night Partly cloudy, with a low around 47.
