2013-14 FAU NotesFAUtrailedOhioStateby23inthefirsthalfofitsgameon Nov. 10 in Columbus. The Owls pieced together a 21-6 run in the closing minutes to cut the game to one point, but the Buckeyes held on for the 91-88 victory.

FAU has seven active seniors on its 2013-14 roster, the most of any Conference USA program. The seniors com-bine for 486 games of experience.

The Owls returned 91% of their scoring offense from a year ago. FAU averaged 68 points per contest in 2012-13, ranking third in the Sun Belt Conference.

Senior forward Chenise Miller is averaging 1.2 blocks/game during her career, tallying 89 blocks over the last two seasons. She currently ranks sixth in school history in blockedshots,aftersurpassingYolandaGriffithlastyear.Miller needs 35 more blocks in her senior campaign to tie Kim Hicks for the all-time record.

Miller is on pace to move into second all-time in rebounds at FAU. The senior has a career average of 7.1 rebounds per game and a total of 514.

FAUhasmadeathree-pointfieldgoalin119-consecutivegames, dating back to Georgia Southern on December 30, 2009. The Owls shot 30% beyond the arc in 2012-13 and ranked second in the Sun Belt Conference with 5.9 threes per game.

FAU Head Coach Kellie Lewis-Jay is competing in her fourth conference in as many years. She was an assistant at Nebraska when the Cornhuskers made the switch from the Big 12 Conference to the Big Ten in 2011. Kellie Lewis-Jay joined Florida Atlantic University as its head coach in May 2012. Lew-is-Jay, the fourth head coach in the young program's 28-year existence, came to FAU as an accomplished student, athlete, coach and mentor. She also has served as an assistant coach in the Pac 10, Big 12 and Big Ten Conferences and represented each league in the NCAA Tournament. Lewis-Jay joined current Husker assistant coach Sunny Smallwood on the Washington staff in 2003-04, and both Lewis-Jay and Smallwood are graduates of Boise State University. The connections to the state of Washington helped the Huskers sign 2009 Washington Gatorade High School Player of the Year Lindsey Moore, a third-team Parade High School All-American and a 2010 Big 12 All-Freshman selection as NU's starting point guard. A native of Auburn, California, Lewis-Jay was a standout at Boise State after attending Placer High School. She was a four-year letterwinner and a two-time team cap-tain as a player at Boise State. Her list of collegiate accolades included a pair of All-Big West Conference selections in 1997 and 1998, as well as Boise State team MVP honors those same seasons. During her senior campaign, Lewis-Jay earned Big West Conference All-Tournament honors, after being named the MVP of the Boise State Tournament. She also was honored as a two-time recipient of the National Arthur Ashe Scholar Athlete Award in 1997 and 1998. An outstanding all-around player, Lewis-Jay led the Broncos in six categories duringherjuniorseason,includingscoring(12.2ppg),fieldgoalsmade(107),three-pointersmade (76), free-throw percentage (.765), assists (69) and steals (48).
