Summer Lunch Program We could still use some help on the following dates from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.: June 27th and 29th. You can also help by donating healthy snacks for the kids to take home (raisins, pea-nut butter, crackers, granola bars, etc.). Just label them “Summer Lunch Program“ and drop off at the church office. If you can help any of these dates, please contact Lisa Bernstein or Karen Cox.

Serve in the Nursery Our precious little babies and pre-schoolers need you to spend time caring for them on Sunday morn-ings. Your commitment is during the worship service once every three months. We still need more people to fill out the three month rotation. If this is an area you would be inter-ested in serving, please contact Ann Hertzfeldt in the church office at 526-7108.

OCC Collection Operation Christmas Child is col-lecting fishing supplies during the month of June. Please continue to bring in your Colgate toothpaste coupons. Place any of these items in designated boxes around the

church or in your Sunday School class.

We were submerged in God’s Word dur-ing Vacation Bible School June 13-17! During the week children discovered that Jesus saw people differently. He didn’t just see what was on the outside; He saw people for who they were on the inside…down, down deep. Children were led to discover that every-one needs a Savior- even those who look like

they have it all together. They learned that a relationship with Jesus Christ changes everything! The week’s scripture was Psalm 139:23-24. Our moto was Jesus Sees. Jesus knows. Jesus Saves. Bible study teachers, music, craft, mission and recreation leaders all worked together to teach the children this verse and help them to realize that we all need a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. We had an average of 110 adult and youth leaders work in VBS. Our average attendance for the week was 169 children. Everyone did a wonderful job! Ann and Colleen would like to give a huge thank you to everyone who gave of their time to share this experience with children dur-ing the week.

On Thursday we used our Mission tract time to hear Steve Farris share the Gospel. At the end of the service an invitation was offered and the ministers were on hand to council those who made decisions. Eleven children made decisions. We are following up with each child this week.

This year our mission offering was split between the Backpack Program at Parkview and Evangelistic Children’s Programs in India. The classes competed to see which group could raise the most money. The preschool-kindergarten group won the competition bringing in $249. Overall we gave $700 to be shared among the two groups.

Family night was Friday night at the Babe Ruth field at Parkview for Orga-nized Mass Chaos. We sang some of our VBS songs, ate a hot dog supper, enjoyed OMC and then pastor Scott McKinney connected the Gospel to OMC. The youth met in church members homes Monday-Thursday for their own VBS. They also studied the Submerged curriculum. An average of 43 students and eight leaders attended each night.

FLORIDA YOUTH CHOIR LEADING IN WORSHIP TONIGHT The Lifeline Youth Choir of First Baptist Church in Crestview, Florida

will lead in worship tonight at 6:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary.

Lifeline Choir, which is made up of 17

students from grades 7-12, has toured

every summer for over 20 years to lo-

cations ranging from New York City

to Montana to Texas to South Florida.

The worship concert will include a

variety of music, drama, and testimo-

nies. Lifeline Choir also serves week-

ly as the evening service choir at First

Baptist Church, Crestview, FL.

Please join us for this time of worship and support this youth choir.

Youth will have a game time/fellowship after the service with the youth choir.

Extra OCC Workday

We are going to work on totes and pillow case dresses this Monday, June 27th from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. We would love for you to join us. We have a little over 100 dresses made and around 350 totes! So we are getting a good start! Join in

the fun, bring a sandwich and let’s have a tote for EVERY shoebox this year! Our youth have been a tremendous help! They are learning how to iron and make necklaces and tying the most beautiful bows on our dresses!

Also, we are in a HUGE need of fishing sup-plies… hooks, line, sinkers & bobbers. Please put those supplies in our boxes around the church! Our church goal is 1631 shoeboxes this year,

so start filling our boxes NOW! What a difference 1 shoe-box can make in a child’s life!

FBC Preschool/Children’s Ministry Survey

The Preschool & Children's Ministry Ad-hoc Team was established in the spring to as-sist the ministers and staff at First Baptist Church (FBC) to analyze, encourage, and advise about current and future plans for the Children's Ministry at FBC. Those members invited by Pas-tor Scott McKinney to serve on the committee include: Cathy Jones, Kelli Melton, Wanda Peter-son, Laura Rich, Aaron Riddick, Bedelia Russell, and Mike Wilson. The purpose of the survey is to solicit input from parents/caregivers of children currently involved in our children's ministries and programs so as to gain additional insights about current ministries and programs as well as suggestions for future possibilities. Your feedback is important and your responses will serve to help inform and guide the team as they work with the FBC ministers and staff to develop a vision to grow and enhance ministries and programs for families and their children. The survey will be anonymous unless you choose to provide your contact information. The survey should take ap-proximately 20 minutes to complete.
