The Candidate should select the code corresponding to his/her mother tongue from the table below. 10. Occupation of the Father/Guardian should also be selected from the drop box

provided:

- Agriculture

- Business

- Medical

- Engineering

- Law Practice

- Teaching / Research

- Public/Govt Service

- Private Service

- Defence Service

- Others

11. Select the Education background of the parents; both-graduates (if both are

graduates), only-one graduate (if either father or mother is a graduate) or

neither-graduates (if both are not graduates).

12. If the candidate is Physically Disabled, the box should be highlighted and

supporting document for the same should be sent along with the printed

application form.

Address for Communication

13. The candidate should ensure that he/she gives the correct email id and mobile

number because all correspondence regarding the application will be only

through email and mobile.

Preferred Choice of the Programme

14. Candidate must indicate the preference of the programme he/she wishes to

pursue in the box provided. For example: 1 against DNS means 1st Preference for

DNS. If selected, allotment will be made in the order of preference only. A

candidate can give 3 options; however the eligibility criteria should be checked

for the programmes selected.

Preferred Choice of Exam Centre

15. CET 2013 will be conducted in major cities and towns across India. The list of

CET centres are given. Candidate must indicate the preference depending on the

proximity he/she shares with the region in the box provided. IMU reserves the

right to assign the candidate to the nearest centre if the preferred examination

centre doesn’t have sufficient number of applicants. No change in the

examination centre will be entertained.

16. Candidates should upload their recent passport size colour photograph of good

quality. Photograph should not have cap, goggles, etc. (Spectacles are allowed).

The face of the candidate should cover about 75% of the photo. The photo should

not be hazy. The photograph should be in the format of jpeg, gif, png, jpg, pjpeg

with the dimension of 156x156

17. A scanned copy of the signature should also be uploaded in the format of jpeg,

gif, png, jpg, pjpeg with the dimension of 200x60.

Examination Details

18. The details of the Qualifying Examinations should be entered in the given spaces.

All the columns should be entered.

Payment Details

19. The payment details should be entered with details of Bank Name, Challan

Number, Date and Amount.

Application Preview

20. After entering all the details, click apply. After which, the candidate will be taken

to a new window with preview of the application.

Application Print

21. The candidate should take the print of the Application and must sign the

declaration. The place and date should also be entered. The declaration

should be countersigned by the parent/guardian. Application print to be

taken and hard copy with necessary enclosures to be forwarded. Envelope to

be superscribed with ‘UG/PG Application’ and sent to Admission Cell,

Indian Maritime University, East Coast Road, Uthandi, Chennai – 600 119

on or before 10.05.2013.
