Pathways Programs

As students proceed in our program, higher level classes are taught with materials similar to what students can expect when continuing their education at a college or university Through our close cooperation with higher education institutions, students can keep on track to meet entrance deadlines. FLS counselors will also track the progress of each student to offer additional support and ensure application materials are submitted on time.

FLS is The Choice for English Learning

FLS focuses on developing the four English language skills – reading, writing, speaking, and listening. These skills are enhanced with our daily core class. In addition to our core classes, we offer varied elective classes, such as English through Film, American Culture, Slang, and Introduction to Literature. Daily workshops also provide concentrated, self-contained lessons on specific aspects of English, like pronunciation, vocabulary development, and conversation.

FLS International is committed to providing effective English as a Foreign Language education and cultural training to international students and assisting clients during each phase of their educational experience, from their initial entry into the United States to their transfer to a college or university.

Mission Statement:

Only FLS offers more than 100 pathway programs to America’s top universities!1. Our students take a short pathway preparation program.2. The FLS Pathways Program allows the students to receive two years of university credit.3. Students complete their last two years at any of the major universities listed as a UPP partner.

Please note: There is no TOEFL test or any other requirements for acceptance to the FLS Pathways Programs. Grades in the FLS Pathways Program will allow students to attend the very best schools, but all students who complete the course are placed into top level universities.

All of our FLS sites offer top rate security. During the first day of orientation, rules and regulations are reviewed and safety tips are reviewed. A variety of health services are available on site. Our staff is also available 24-hours a day by emergency phone.

UCI Certificate ProgramIn today’s competitive job market, career professionals are always looking for ways to master new skills and keep up with specialized knowledge.

Certificate programs are the perfect way to advance your expertise and improve your educational credentials. These short programs are ideal for students who want to build new skills quickly and efficiently but don’t want to take on the commitment or expense of a complete graduate degree program.Now FLS International offers a program that pairs our highly effective English language instruction with certificate programs from the innovative University of California, Irvine campus. Students will prepare for their certificate program with comprehensive English training at the FLS International Saddleback College location. Upon successful completion of FLS’ Level 16, students will have the necessary English skills to begin their certificate course.

Students may choose from certificate courses in Teaching English as a Foreign Language, Hotel and Tourism Management, or a variety of certificates in International Business. All the certificate programs are designed to help students effectively advance their career opportunities and provide a seal of academic accomplishment from a top public university!

Students from all over the world dream of attending the top schools in the United States. If you dream of going to school in America, our pathway programs offer the perfect solution, even if your grades or English ability are not currently at the level required to attend your dream school. Students may transfer to Citrus College or Saddleback College after their FLS program and complete an Associate’s Degree or Certificate program. After 2 years of study, students with a GPA of 2.0 or better can transfer to any of the 23 campuses in the California State University system to complete a Bachelor’s degree. Some popular campuses include CSU Fullerton, CSU Northridge and CSU San Diego. Students wishing to complete a degree in the prestigious University of California system can enter 6 UC campuses through the Transfer Admission Guarantee Program. Students must complete two years of classes at Citrus or Saddleback College and maintain a GPA of at least 3.0 to be eligible for this outstanding opportunity! FLS is pleased to be the preferred partner for English Language training for the College of Southern Nevada, a public two-year degree institution offering more than 190 degree and certificate options in more than 100 fields of study. The College of Southern Nevada is the largest higher education institution in the state and is spread across three main campuses in Las Vegas, North Las Vegas and Henderson. FLS International’s unique and close relationship with CSN allows FLS students to enter the college after completing FLS Level 14 without taking a TOEFL exam or other language proficiency test. In addition, CSN works closely with the FLS staff to ensure a smooth transition for college-bound students. After completing their first two years of college at CSN, students are eligible for a one year internship or transfer to institutions like the University of Nevada, Las Vegas; University of Nevada, Reno; Dixie State College in Utah and many more!

Fisher College is located just a short walk from our Boston Commons center, across the beautiful Boston Common public park. FLS at Fisher College gives students the following great benefits:

• Students in FLS Level 9 and higher may have the opportunity to take their classes at Fisher College.

• Students can enter the Fisher Pathway program and begin earning college credit starting at FLS Level 9.

Would you like to receive a certificate from the University of California?

FLS offers a perfect combination of ESL instruction and a business or TEFL certificate course that can be finished in as little as seven months! Students who complete an advanced English level at FLS will be qualified to attend a certificate program at the prestigious University of California, Irvine.

Programs and Dates available all year!

Requirements: Students must have a Bachelor’s Degree and complete FLS Level 16 with a passing grade.

• Students will study 6 hours per day in the FLS Academic English program.

• Students go on to attend a 12-week Certificate Program at University of California, Irvine.

• Students will receive accommodation in a single homestay for the duration of the program.

• Students may gain optional work experience at conclusion of program (additional fee required).

Check-in & Check Out PolicyWe strongly recommend students use our transfer service. Students that use the FLS transfer service will be checked in upon arrival as part of this service. If students choose not to use our transfer service:

For apartment and dormitory, students must check-in at the FLS office during regular business hours. Check-in will not be available in the evening or on weekends. Students checking-in on Friday will be charged two extra nights of accommodation.

If arriving on a Sunday, student will not be able to check-in and will forfeit payment of first night. For homestay, students are responsible for communicating their arrival time with the host family.

Students should arrive between 2-9 PM. For students that use our transfer service, FLS will communicate and arrange the arrival and check-in with the host family.

Students are expected to leave their housing by noon on the day after their program ends. Students who request to leave housing after noon on Saturday should note that such requests are not guaranteed, and if granted will incur an additional housing charge.
