Set up a shop in your house and sell you toys- give each toy a price. Get people to come and buy your toys, do they give you the right amount of money? Do you need to give them any change?

Start doing simple subtraction into the house- counting out toys and take-away a certain number. Counting out number of raisins, crackers etc, eating some, how many do you have left.

Estimate how many hops you can do in 2 mins, write your answer on a piece of paper and then get someone to time you and count- were you close?

Can you order all of your toys from shortest to tallest?

Find some empty packages around your home, can you find a cube, a sphere, a cylinder and a cone?

Get an adult to write down some numbers on a piece of paper, can you cut them out and mix them up , order them, say what number is less and one more. Can you then write your own number line to 20?

Project – Make your own biscuits

This simple Honey Biscuits contain just five ingredients and are perfect for filling up your biscuit tin! Both regular and Thermomix instructions included.

Servings: 36 Biscuits

Ingredients

● 200 grams butter softened● 1 cup raw sugar● 2 tbsp honey● 1 egg yolk● 2 cups self raising flour

Instructions

1. Pre-heat your oven to 180 degrees and line two trays with baking paper.

2. Place the softened butter and sugar into the bowl of an electric mixer and beat for 3 - 4 minutes or until pale and creamy.3. Add the honey, egg yolk and self raising flour and mix until a dough forms.4. Use a dessert spoon to scoop up the mixture and shape into a small ball with your hands. Place onto the baking tray and repeat until all of the mixture has been used.5. Gently press on the top of the biscuits with the back of a fork to slightly flatten before placing into your pre-heated oven and baking for 12 - 15 minutes or until they begin to turn golden.6. Carefully remove from the oven and allow the biscuits to cool on the baking tray for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

You can make this dough in advance and store covered in your fridge and

freezer, bring it back to room temperature before attempting to make balls.

The time it takes to cream your butter and sugar will be impacted by the temperature of your butter.

These biscuits are best stored in an airtight container in a cool and dark spot for up to one week.These Biscuits are also freezer friendly

Physical Balloon volleyball

Set up a ribbon to act as a net and blow up a balloon for a ball. Play with your child or, challenge them to play solo volleyball – on both sides of the net!

They hit the balloon up and over the ribbon, then scoot under to hit it from the other side, and so on until the balloon wafts to the ground.
