MECHANICAL SEAL SERVICES

A.R. Thomson Group’s seal repair facilities can service any brand of mechanical seal currently in the market.

The Process:Upon receipt, seals are decontaminated, cleaned and assessed. When necessary, PMI equipment is used to verify the materials of construction. All reconditioned components are brought to OEM specification, reducing lead time and cost of repair. Once assembled, all seals are tested to API 682 and marked with a unique number to allow for traceability. All seals are returned to the cus-tomer with a signed and stamped Quality Assurance card which can be retained for later reference.

In addition to bringing the seal back to specification, our goal is to identify symptoms and causes of failure so we can assist in improving the life of the seal. With over 30 years combined experience in mechanical seals, our team of professional engineers and technolo-gists can assess the failure mode of a returned seal upon request. These reports are critical for improving seal reliability.

REVERSE ENGINEERING

In cooperation with the customer, we use the informa-tion from the failure report to determine if the seals' performance could be increased through upgrades such as superior materials, design improvements or manufacturing techniques.

APPLICATION ENGINEERING
