Several maqamat are easy to play on a D ney, such as Bayati on D, Saba on D, Hijaz on D, Rast on C, Nakriz on C. Notes with half holes such as Ab, and E & B natural, are hard to get on this ney. Bb and Eb are easy on the D ney.
