General information The campus is situated at Strandpromenaden 173, 1516 Moss. Arrivals are set on Tuesday 12th August as from 13.00. The programme will end after breakfast anytime on Saturday 16th August. Upon arrival, you will be given your room key and will be attributed randomly one or two room mates. You will receive a T-shirt with our logo, a bag with different materials and a lanyard with the main programme which we kindly ask you to wear at all times - specially when outside of the campus. Please note that to get in certain public events, like for example the concert in Moss on Wednesday evening, you will absolutely need to show your lanyard to get in. Food will be provided all through the program (breakfast, lunch, dinner). We will also provide water/fruits/snacks throughout the days. Please let us know if you have any allergy or dietary restriction. Note that there will be no pork served. Breakfast will be served every morning from 7.30 to 9.00. Every day you will be assigned in a different group. Ask your leader in the evening to be sure you are up on time! For any information, the seminar contact phone you can use is: (+47) 489 50 600. Please note that your group leader will be your prior contact person for all practical issues. Cultural activities Tuesday : Official opening ceremony with speeches, videos, music, games and other surprises! Wednesday : Concert by “Disaster of the Universe” - a Norwegian group coming to Moss to play for us! Thursday: BFV Street party + The Peace Speech with HRH Crown Prince Haakon, Jeremy Gilley and other VIP guests/ artists. Friday : A bus tour in 3 different cities of our region - Spydeberg, Halden and Fredrikstad where very interesting people and fun activities will wait for us. Social medias We have created a (closed) group on Facebook for the participants/staff/volunteers and facilitators - we hope you have already joined it - in order to help us all to communicate in a direct/constant/efficient way. If you are not a member yet, just let us know, we will add you immediately. We also have an instagram account, tag your pictures with #bfv2014 If you have a blog and you think of posting your experiences or pictures during the peace seminar, we would be happy to get the info so we can share it within our network. this is the information flyer for the INTERNATIONAL PEACE SEMINAR FOR YOUTH which will take place in MOSS NORWAY from 12 to 16 august 2014. 200 youth coming from all parts of the world - a lot of distinguished speakers among which JEREMY GILLEY from Peace One DAY.

This year Norway is celebrating the 200th anniversary of the Norwegian constitution - signed in Eidsvoll on 17 may 1814 and one of the main events to commemorate this special event in the Norwegian history, in the region of Østfold, is our international seminar!

International Peace Seminar for youth

Barnas Fredsverden is a non-profit, non-governmental organisation with one main focus: to inspire children and youth to find new ways to manage conflicts so as to produce positive change. For the 3rd year, BFV presents the Peace Seminar for Youth and is very proud - specially this year - to have invited some of the most engaged and honourable guests to facilitate workshops, give speeches, play games and meet the youth so as to inspire them with their work/ideas/tools.

Hello!earth is a non-profit arts a s s o c i a t i o n w i t h b a s e i n Copenhagen, Denmark. Hello!earth offers workshops reaching from playful explorations to creating new meeting spaces/community events.

Crossing Borders is a non-profit, non-governmental civil society organisation. Its mission is to create impartial dialogue space and to provide enabling capacity building for youth, media workers and educators to participate actively in the development processes of their societies.

Sadaka-Reut Arab-Jewish Youth Partnership educates and empowers Jewish and Palestinian Israel i youth and university students to pursue social and political change through bi-national partnership.

In 1999, Jeremy Gilley founded Peace One Day, a non-profit organisation which is at the origin of the UN resolution on a Peace Day celebrated all around the world on 21st September. Peace One Day has a l so he lped thousands of medical workers vaccinate 4.5million children in Afghanistan and pursues its hard work to develop everywhere, possible or impossible, the biggest global reduction of violence.

SABONA has specialised in creating too ls and rec ipes to ana lyse, understand and solve conflicts.. Everyone is part of a conflict from time to time. It is frustrating and sometimes brings up anger or hatred. If you do not know how to handle the situation - it is more likely to turn to violence. Sabona delivers the appropriate tools to handle the conflicts. !

The Norwegian Refugee C o u n c i l ( N R C ) i s a n independent, humanitarian, non-p r o fi t , n o n - g o v e r n m e n t a l organisation which provides ass istance, protect ion and durable solutions to refugees and internally displaced persons worldwide.

Play for Peace® is a dynamic global learning community dedicated to connecting children youth and o r g a n i z a t i o n s f r o m d i f f e r e n t communities in conflict (or not) through cooperative play to create laughter, compassion and peace. Their methodology is straightforward and effective; they train youth around the world to lead peace education and community-wide activities that are cooperative inclusive caring and fun. They are present in many countries around the world.

Moss Kommune (the municipality of Moss) in cooperation with Østfold Fylkeskommune (the County Council of Østfold) are this year the organisers of the 2014 seminar. The seminar is part of the celebration of the anniversary of the constitution.

We are very happy to welcome you to this international peace seminar for youth celebrating this year the 200th a n n i v e r s a r y o f t h e N o r w e g i a n constitution signed in 1814. In the course of 5 days, you will have the chance to meet amazing and dedicated people l ike HRH Crown Prince Haakon, Jeremy Gilley from Peace One Day, Dr Johan Galtung, and Marco Elsafadi; you will make new friends from all over the world; you will learn more about peace, dialogue and conflict resolution; you will be invited to concerts, visit stunning places, and discover, if you don´t know already, how fun it can be to LEARN and BE with others! The Nansen Center for Peace and Dialogue is a organization using dialogue to build Bridges in divided communities. NCPD tries to bring people together, creating spaces where they can learn to talk to the  "others" in a more open way.  It also trains people in dialogue, communication and conflict management.
