    The focus of this conference is theexplanation of collective agency, cognition and

    cooperation in natural and articial systems andthe challenges arising from the construction of

    machines (like software agents and robots) thatact together with other machines and human be-ings. This topic is approached from a multidisci-

    plinary perspective involving philosophy, articialintelligence, computer science, cognitive and

    neuroscience, robotics, social scienceand engineering cybernetics.
