One message that you really need to take on board is the impact that your at-

tendance can have on your progress. Staff in school will do everything that they

can to help you to achieve when you are in school, but we need you to be here to

start with!

The current average percentage attendance for Year 11 students is 93%. A stu-

dent whose attendance is above 95% will achieve an average of seven or eight

GCSE qualifications at grades 9 to 4. A student whose attendance drops below

93% will attain on average only two or three GCSE qualifications at grades 9 to 4.

Good attendance is essential for your success!

Each issue of your ‘Final Countdown’ will provide you with relevant and useful advice, hints and tips in the run up to the exam sea-

son. These might be tips on how to reduce exam stresses, help in planning a revision timetable or, like this first edition, advice and

guidance on how to get your exam preparation organised!

With only 78 school days until the first GCSE exam, you don’t have time to waste.

You need to get yourself organised as a priority. Here’s some simple steps to start

the journey.

Attend the revision sessions offered in school:

Sign up for a study space pass -

see Mr Houghton for an application

form and get access to OL3 before

school and during lunch time for a

quiet place to study and revise.

* Students may only attend other revision sessions with the explicit permission of the lead subjects (those

shown in bold). This should be prearranged. **Music has a sign-up sheet for 1-1 study and students will

pick to avoid when they are wanted by other subjects. ***Art will contact students individually for their

allocated time

Students may only attend

other revision sessions with

the explicit permission of the

lead subjects (those shown in

bold). This should be prear-

ranged.
