CUSTOMIZATIONS

Uniform Hat: To be worn straight on the head so that bottom of band around head is parallel to ground. Visor should not interfere with vision or ride up on forehead.

Hair: Hair standards may vary but facial hair shoud be neatly trimmed.

Shoulder Rank Insignia: Center on shoulder loops an equal distance from the outside shoulder seam to the outside edge of button.

Shirt Collar Rank Insignia: Center 1" from front edge and 1" from top edge of collar.

Shoulder Departmental Emblems: Usually applied to both shoulders 1/2" to 1" down from shoulder seam.

Name Plate: Center 1/2" above right pocket.

Sleeve Braid: Bottom row to be positioned 3" above bottom of sleeve. Additional rowsto be spaced 1/4" apart. Number of rows usually used to denote different ranks. Braid may be all around sleeve or top side only.

Sleeve Length: To be 1-1/2" below wrist bone.

Trousers: Some fabrics may shrink slightly so it is well advised to have a slight break on shoe when ordering new trousers. Trouser leg to be neither flared nor tapered.

Shoulder Cord: Usually used for special identification such as Honor Guard. Attach under left shoulder strap just inside sleeve seam.

Badge: Shall be worn on the outermost garment. Exact positioning may vary with badge style. Usually the badge is centered 1/2" to 1" above center of left pocket flap.

Hash Marks, Stars, or Maltese Crosses: Used to denote years of service. May be on either left or right sleeve. If used with sleeve braid, locate 1/2" above top row of braid. If no braid is used, locate 3" above bottom of sleeve to bottom of Cross, Hash Marks, or Stars.

Socks: Shall be solid without design.

Shoes: Oxford or boot with smooth finish and plain toe.
