Craig Dykers (Senior Partner/Director, Snøhetta, Oslo/New York) was born in Frankfurt, Germany and has lived extensively in both Europe and North America. Dykers received a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture at the University of Texas at Austin after initial studies in medicine and art. Dykers has worked in Texas and California and co-founded the architecture, landscape and interior design company Snøhetta in Oslo, Norway in 1989 and in New York City in 2004. Dykers has worked on the design of several prominent cultural projects including the Alexandria Library in Egypt, the Norwegian National Opera and Ballet in Oslo, and the National September 11 Memorial Museum at the World Trade Center site in New York City. Other projects include the Lillehammer Winter Olympics Art Museum and the Norwegian Embassy in Berlin. Snøhetta has been the recipient of the Aga Khan, Mies Van der Rohe and World Architecture Prizes.

Cameron Sinclair

was trained as an architect at the University of Westminster and at theBartlett School of Architecture, University College London. During hisstudies Sinclair developed an interest in social, cultural and humanitariandesign. His postgraduate thesis focused on providing shelter to New York'shomeless through sustainable, transitional housing. After his studies, hemoved to New York where he worked as a designer and project architect.

Sinclair and Architecture for Humanity co-founder Kate Stohr compiled abestselling book Design Like You Give A Damn: Architectural Responses toHumanitarian Crises and are currently working on a second volume. He isheavily involved in bringing socially relevant building into academia andserves on advisory boards of the Acumen Fund, the Institute for StateEffectiveness and the Ontario College of Art and Design.

Sinclair is a TED prize recipient and is a Young Global Leader of the WorldEconomic Forum. In 2008 Architecture for Humanity and its co-foundersSinclair and Stohr were named as recipients of the Design Patron Award forthe National Design Awards. The following year Sinclair and Stohr werejointly awarded the Bicentenary Medal by the Royal Society of Arts forincreasing people’s resourcefulness. As a result of the 2006 TED Prize heand Stohr launched the Open Architecture Network, the worlds' first opensource community dedicated to improving living conditions throughinnovative and sustainable design. Every two years this network hosts aglobal challenge to tackle a systemic issue within the built environment.

Kate Stohr

Kate Stohr is the Co-founder and Managing Director of Architecture for Humanitywhere she has been instrumental in leading the organization's communitydevelopment and reconstruction programs. Stohr has also led the development ofthe organization's online platforms, including the Open Architecture Network(www.openarchitecturenetwork.org), and edited the book Design Like You Give aDamn. Her work with Architecture for Humanity has been profiled on NPR, CNNand Frontline/World, and she has served as a panel moderator and guest speakerat the Clinton Global Initiative annual meeting, "Live from the New York PublicLibrary," the Aspen Ideas Festival, and many other design conferences and events.

Stohr brings a background in project management, website development and astrong understanding of urban planning issues to the organization. Prior to co-founding Architecture for Humanity, she was a journalist and producer. Her workhas appeared in the New York Times, Business Week, U.S. News and WorldReport and on MSNBC, A&E, and PBS. She developed a number of websites forTime Inc., Gruner+Jahr and other clients.

Stohr received her bachelor's degree magna cum laude from New York Universityand her master's degree in Journalism from Columbia University's GraduateSchool of Journalism. She is the recipient of Wired magazine's 2006 Rave Awardfor Architecture and was awarded the Royal Society of Arts Bicentenary Medal in2009. Together with co-founder, Cameron Sinclair she accepted the 2008 Cooper-Hewitt Smithsonian National Design Patron Award in honor of the work ofArchitecture for Humanity, its chapters, volunteers and design fellows.

Nora Abousteit

Nora started her career in media at Hubert BurdaMedia in the staff of Hubert Burda, where shewas part of the organizing team for DLDconferences.

Before that, Nora worked in BusinessDevelopment and Corporate Marketing in Cairo,Egypt, where she also received a degree in MiddleEast Studies and Political Science from theAmerican University in Cairo. Nora currently livesin Brooklyn, New York.

Lauren Cornell

is Adjunct Curator at the New Museum andExecutive Director of Rhizome, where sheoversees and develops the organization'sprograms, all of which are devoted to thepresentation, interpretation and preservation ofart engaged with new technology. At the NewMuseum,

Cornell has co-curated exhibitions including "TheGenerational: Younger Than Jesus," and directsthe monthly event program entitled the NewSilent Series. Her new exhibition Free, featuringtwenty artists, will open at the Museum inOctober 2010.
