In this session, Pr. Robert Gelinas talks about Pharoah’s daughter immersing herself in the mess of the Nile River where Hebrew babies were dying and finding herself in God’s plan. When it comes to foster care, what might this look like for you, your family, and your church? In what ways have you personally interacted with the Foster Care system? How has your church engaged with it? Are there currently any barriers that are holding you or your church back from immersing itself more fully in the foster care system? If so, what are some ways to overcome these barriers?

How do you feel your church’s involvement in foster care has impacted the body of believers in your church; how has it deepened its community, enriched its theology, and made its witness to the community more vibrant? If your church has not been that involved, how do you feel its involvement would accomplish these things?

Pr. Gelinas said that the Church of Jesus Christ is enough to provide homes, love, community, aid and stability for ALL the kids in foster care. What would have to happen in your community for this to be a reality in the next 3-5 years?
