OUR PROJECT IDEAS
SONG CHOICEWe chose the band Foals, they carry an indie style, layering their music with hidden
meaning and metaphors. This will help us be as creative as possible
We searched all the songs that didn’t have music videos and out of the few we picked the one song that had a change in tempo and a set of lyrics that carry an eerie story line. WHAT REMAINS

FOALS
OUR BAND INDENTITY• In terms of fashion, they will be alike to the style of the Foals. As indie rock is very
mixed. And the fashion isn’t defined by genre. • Its borderline hipster, but doesn’t stray from mainstream• Band names we are thinking of, are farrow, kit and parr. • They are calm and concealed, focusing more on their niche music than their
image• They take their band, and them selves, very seriously.
BRAIN STORMING• When reading the lyrics as a group we found many meanings that led to some
basic narrative concepts • Our interpretations
• Abusive heterosexual relationship• Inner religious conflict• Mental illness, schizophrenia and depression, self confidence issues. • Father son abusive relationships.
NARRATIVE• We thought we could do a Father son dynamic, with a toxic relationship.
• This could include religious elements. • Maybe its his father funeral and he is to give a eulogy, and cannot due to the
bad memories of his father. • We got ideas of the style from Foal’s existing videos. • A lot of it will include close ups and odd angles to add diversity. • Perhaps adding a pinlight for the washed out look.
PERFORMANCE• From watching the foals and other artists we’ve learnt that angles and close ups
mean a lot, drawing most attention to the main singer. • Having a gloomy background, whether its just grey or white, in a run down
room, or out in nature, like a wooded area• Some artists have art or mural in the background, perhaps some branding in the
scenery.
LISTINGS• Locations:
• Churches ( Maybe needed )• Grave yard by sea front. • Wooded Areas, Greenery, Seaton
Delavan hall, along the wagon ways • Beach • Housing: Perhaps one of our own
• Actors:• Friends of Friends• Band Friends. • Friends.
• Props:• Religious items: personal • Skulls and bones: Art department. • Band equipment: Friends.
• Costumes:• Should already have some flannel
and bomber jacket styles, if not charity shops.
