Know-how and complicated techniquePE-Redskaber is so much more than traditional gymnastics equipment. We have installed about 200 foam pits through the past 18 years - with and without trap doors. Naturally, the foam pits can be combined with one or more sunken trampolines or Fast-Tracks. On the basis of many years’ work with the development and setting-up of foam pits, we have built up tremendous know-how with solutions involving complicated techniques.

Structure of the foam pit

What is a foam pit made of?A foam pit from PE-Redskaber basically comprises a foam mat, lift, trap door and safety pads:

Loose foam By using a loose foam pit, safety is increased for multi-rotations with and without twists. The risk of injury in the event of an unfortunate landing is minimised.

Foam pad The foam mat is the “heart” of the foam pit. The foam quality is of the utmost importance. Itneedstohavetherightfirmnessinordertoprovideoptimalsafety.Thefoampitiscov- ered in a strong quality stretch fabric. The fabric is colour-blocked in two colours to give the gymnast a better orientation in the air and thus greater safety.

Lift (Raise/lower mechanism) provides a vast amount of possibilities – not least as a vaulting table for preliminary exercises and learning new skills and techniques. PE-Redskaber manufacturesfoampitsthatcanberaisedupto220cmabovefloorlevel-ofcourse, with a solid safety enclosure so no one can fall down under the lift.

Trap door Installing a trap door means that the foam pit can be placed in halls where other sports activitiestakeplace.Agentletransitionbetweenthefixedandthemoveablefloorismade so, for example, handball, football and badminton can be played on and next to the trap doors.

Safety pads Safety pads provide extra safety, which means that the risk of the coach or person spotting orthegymnastinjuringthemselvesontheedgesoftheflooraresignificantlyminimised.

Focus on safety!Since safety is of the utmost importance at PE-Redskaber, we also focus a great deal on the detailofautomaticclosureofthefloorandautomaticenclosureoftheelevatedfloorovertheretractablefloor.

Furthermore, the safety pads provide extra safety, which minimises the risk of the coach or person spotting or the gymnast being injured on the edges of the foam pit.

Recommendations from the Danish Working Environment AuthorityFollowing a recommendation from the Danish Working Environment Authority, PE-Redskaber has chosen to install an extra safety system as a standard feature.

Allliftsarefittedwithanextrasafetyscreenaroundthewirewheelssofingerscannotget caughtifthefoampitisnotoperatedasspecifiedbyPE-Redskaber.

The power is automatically disconnected if a person climbs under the trampoline and foam pad. The system then needs to be re-set by the janitor/hall supervisor or another authorised person.

Intheeventofcleaning/service,the‘fitterkey’isplacedinthekeyboxintheelevatedfloor. This prevents the activation of the re-set function in the hall. So no operation while there are people under the elevated foam pit!

After cleaning/service, the system is re-set in the hall and the operating panels can be used to lift pads, etc. again.

Sunken large trampolines & Fast-Tracks

Large trampolineSunken large trampolines give the gymnast the possibility of many repetitions during the prac-ticing of new jumps. The large trampoline provides a greater lift compared to a mini trampoline and the gymnast can use his energy on the skill instead of the run-up.

When purchasing a 600 x 632 cm foam pit, PE-Redskaber recommends the installation of two sunken large trampolines at the same time as this provides the possibility of optimal utilisation of the foam pit.

Locking system on large trampolineThe locking system on the large trampoline is an extra safety precaution which prevents accidental use when an instructor is not present. When the trampoline is locked, it is not possible to jump on it.

We install foam pits, Fast-Tracks, sunken large trampolines, etc. in existing as well as new gymnastics centres.

RefurbishingPE-Redskaber is known for developing and manufacturing high-quality foam pits, but with many years of use the foam pits can require refurbishing at some time or other.

We not only repair and refurbish foam pits that have been purchased from PE-Redskaber, but also foam pits from other manufacturers. We manage the repairs, we are fast and effective so our customers don't need to avoid using their foam pit for long.

We repair and refurbish everything regarding foam pits, Fast-Tracks and sunken, large trampo-lines and also safety pads, foam pads, bungy harnesses and lifts.

Status report

Get a status reportRegardless of whether this concerns a foam pit from PE-Redskaber or from another manufac-turer, we would be pleased to stop by and draw up a status report on the safety and condition of your foam pit. This can give you an overview of any costs for repair.

Keep tabs on safetyWe recommend that foam pits are inspected once annually with a view to:

minimise the number of operating problems/stoppages of the foam pit minimise the cost of emergency repairs discover wear in time and thus minimise the costs on maintenance extend the lifetime of the foam pit to provide security that the foam pit has been inspected by professionals

The inspection is not a legal requirement, but it is a preventative inspection where the vital parts are examined, lubricated and checked.

A service and safety inspection includes:

Tightening and lubrication of all moveable parts Inspection and lubrication of steel wire as well as wire wheels Function check of electrical parts and switches Inspection of foam pads, cover and frame pads Status report on the inspected equipment

PE Twisting BeltWith the new PE Twisting Belt we focus on quality, use, design, and minimum costs for maintenance.

Belts for the twisting ring are designed with a dual function in relation to previous inner belts and somersault belts. With the unique coupling system, it is possible to use the twisting belt as an ordinary somersault belt.

Bungy systems

4-point bungy A 4-point bungy is ideal to have above a large trampoline for practicing, e.g. double rotations.

The bungy comprises suspended elastics in 4 corners. The gymnast is harnessed to the 4 points so he/she remains in the middle of the large trampoline while jumping.

The 4-point bungy is for those gymnasts who want to do many repeats of double and triple rotations where great safety is simultaneously part of the exercise. With the gymnast being suspendedinelastics,thedropfromgreatheightsissignificantlysloweddown.Thisgivesthecoach or person spotting the possibility of assisting if the gymnast does not manage a complete rotation in the skill or jump.

SmartVip - an indoor football and hockey pitch

SmartVipPE-Redskaber has developed the patented “SmartVip” (Smart Flip) system – an indoor football and hockey pitch. When “SmartVip” is to be used, the pitch comes up out of the floor. After 1 minute and 15 seconds the hall is transformed into an indoor football or hockey pitch.

Duetoourexperiencewithingroundtumblingequipments,weareabletomakeconnectionsbetweenthemovableandthefixedpartofthefloor,whichpracticallycannotbeseen,andthereforedoesnotcausediscomforttotheusersofthehallwhenSmartVipisclosed.WhenSmartVipisup,thefloorclosesuptight,andthere'saflatfloorbehindSmartVip.
