Draft Minutes to be corrected/approved at the July 11, 2012 General Meeting FRIENDS OF THE OLDHAM COUNTY PUBLIC LIBRARY General Meeting June 13, 20012 President Tony Acree called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. Present were all officers, five Friends and guest Wendy Schoeppner. The May 9 Minutes were approved with the correction of two spelling mistakes. Treasurer, Faye Frank, reported a balance of $6696.39. She is issuing a check for $50 for the Oldham County Day application. Fay reported that we are responsible for state, but not federal, tax on the donated books resales. She will fill out the Kentucky Tax Registration Application which generates our quarterly statements. Carol Snyder sent in the application for the Kentucky Friends grant to reimburse us for the 501(c)(3) filing fee of $400. Faye will call the installer about the $200 bill to install bookshelves in the Book Shop. We were told the cost would be $150. Plans for the Big Band Concert on July 26 were reviewed. Sandy has two dancers to demonstrate the '40s dances. The concert will be held on the terrace unless it rains. The 10 x 10 canopy, which we voted to purchase for events like Oldham County Day, costs $199.00 at Costco. Guest Wendy Schoeppner has an eBay business and may have one for 75 - 90% off retail. She will be in touch with Tony. Tony said the staff at Goshen mentioned needing counters at the check-out desk(s) which would allow the librarian to sit. This is not yet a formal request to the Friends. The meeting adjourned at 7:10 p.m. and the group enjoyed refreshments to celebrate the official approval of our 501(c)(3) status.
