FOCUS ON 4-H A LLEGANY C OUNTY UPCOMING EVENTS January 2 - Club Charter items due to 4-H Office 11 - 4-H Ski Day 15 - National Trip Applications due 21 - UME Office Closed February 1 - Record books, Secretary books & enrollments due 22 - 4-H Ski Day 24 - 4-H Horseman Party Save the Date March 2 - Maryland 4-H Livestock Skillathon 2019 4-H ONLINE ENROLLMENT All 4-H members, Clovers and Certified UME Volunteers must enroll each year to remain active. 4-H enrollment will begin after January 2 and all Maryland 4-H families and volunteers must enroll/re- enroll using the 4-H Online system: https://maryland.4honline.com. Re-enroll: Families currently enrolled do not set up a new profile. If you enrolled yourself online this past year, your email and password will be the same. If you are using the system for the first time to re-enroll, click on “I forgot my password”, enter your email address, and click on Send My Password. You will receive a password reset email from the system. For members who have aged out of 4-H and wish to become a volunteer, do not use your current online enrollment. Contact Jody before enrolling as a volunteer. Enroll: New families to 4-H will choose “I need to set up a profile” and follow the instructions. A reminder to everyone to choose your club(s) and project(s) for 2019. You can come to the office for assistance, or we can bring laptops to club meetings to help families enroll. Enrollment Fees: The State 4-H Enrollment Fee will remain $10.00 per enrolled youth for 2019. However, the $10.00 fee will apply to ALL youth enrolling in Maryland 4-H, regardless of age (including Clovers). The $30.00 per family cap will remain. There is fee assistance available for families with financial hardship. There will be no fee for Certified UME volunteers. Families will be required to pay the State 4-H Enrollment Fee via the online payment link, using a credit/debit card or PayPal account. For assistance with enrollment or fee payment, email [email protected]. All members and Certified UME Volunteers who enroll by February 1 will receive a free Allegany County 4-H T-shirt.

2019 4-H ONLINE ENROLLMENT

All 4-H members Clovers and Certified UME Volunteers must enroll each year to remain active 4-H enrollment will begin after January 2 and all Maryland 4-H families and volunteers must enrollre-enroll using the 4-H Online system httpsmaryland4honlinecom

BAD WEATHER POLICY Now that winter is here we want to remind everyone of the bad weather policy for 4-H activities If there is no school or early dismissal from school in Allegany County due to inclement weather all county sponsored 4-H events that dayevening will be cancelled Contact your club leader or our office to determine if club activities are cancelled

Paws N Pals In December the Paws N Pals 4-H Club baked cookies to donate to local Union Rescue Mission Front row Annalynne Brady Chris Puffinburger Macy Judy Tenley Judy Back row Sherri Brady Amanda Divelbiss Jade Gilmore Maddisen Cottrill Samantha Judy Dave Judy

At their December meeting members of Gold Star 4-H Club made pretend snow decorated cookies and wrote Christmas cards for Ukrainian orphans

4-H Tech Club Members of 4-H Tech Club visited the television studio at Frostburg State University They had a behind-the-scenes tour and were able to interact with the green screen

The State 4-H Livestock Skillathon Contest will be held on Saturday March 2 2019 at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds
