1 Growth in the Mission Fields In this issue, we will provide a view of how the various mission fields have grown over the years. Featured in this issue are the mission fields of Batam, Cambodia and Myanmar and their increases in church membership through baptism, reaffirmation of faith and transfer of membership. It is quite apparent that the various mission stations have grown in their local ministries as well as in their outreaches. We have many reasons to thank and praise God for it is He who has given the increase. As our missionaries continue to labour on, it is our prayer that members of Life B-P Church will continue to support them in prayer as well as to be there to encourage them and to have a part in their ministries. Focus OnMissionsGrowth in the Mission FieldsIn this issue, we will provide a view of how the various mission fields have grown over the years.

Batam Churches

For many years, the churches in Batam had been helmed single-handedly by sister Roska and the churches had grown under her leadership. She has since relinquished her responsibility and we have now a team of full-time staff overseeing the three churches with an average total Sunday Worship attendance of 135.

Kompong Som Bible SchoolThe Kompong Som Bible School (KBS) under the leadership of Rev Moses Hahn has trained more than 100 theological students and they are all serving in more than a dozen rural churches spread across the country. From a purely Bible School, they have now expanded to include Primary School Education in their ministry. This new ministry came about from their outreach to one of the poor rural villages where it became clear that they needed help in providing education to their children.

Life UniversityRev David Koo had from day one the vision to set up a mission school that would provide education from Primary all the way to University level and to influence the students with the gospel through daily chapel hours and weekly Bible lessons. Since two years’ ago, an International School was added which today has a student body of around 200 ranging from kindergarten to Grade 7 (Secondary 1).

Today, the student body for the local Primary to High School numbers around 700 while the Theology Department of the University has trained more than 100 students and they are all gainfully employed in the 20 rural churches that have been established. For the current academic year, more than 20 students are enrolled to study Theology.

The Graduation Ceremony was held for students for the Academic Year of 2010/2012.

Many of these students have heard the gospel through chapel hours given every morning. The seed has been planted and we only pray that it will germinate in their hearts in time to come.

There is no graduation ceremony for Primary to High School students and the total number of students at these 3 levels is around 700. The gospel is also given to all these students through the chapel hour conducted every morning and we believe that in time to come, the Lord will bring many of these into His Kingdom too.

Prayer Items

1. There is a general lack of Bible knowledge among staff workers of the various churches and we need to provide teaching to them. The need is especially acute among village churches.

2. We need to provide Bibles for the various churches.

3. The churches in the villages mostly depend on the city pastors in doctrinal positions and learning the Bible, They are very weak in Bible knowledge.
