INTRODUCTION

•The eucariotic cells use the replication process to express his nucleotids and produce his proteins.

•The process is in the citoplasm and the exception is the RNA Virus and the prions

Infectious Prions Can Arise Spontaneously in Normal Brain Tissue, Study Shows

ScienceDaily (July 27, 2010)

•The prions are proteins, they not replicate, only activate DNA innactive.

•They are in the infected meat and are recognized for producing the bovine spongiform encephalopathy.

“MadCow disease”

ScienceDaily (July 27, 2010)

•The prions induces neurodegeneratives syndromes.

•This proteins infected mice in laboratory, when they was in contact with prions on steel.

ScienceDaily (July 27, 2010)

•The abnormal or misfolded prion protein (PrPSc) INACTIVE, converts PrPC into a likeness of itself, ACTIVE!

•The end-stage consists of acummulation of these proteins, which cause massive tissue and neuronal cell damage.

OBSERVATION

The prions are very extrange protein and very dangerous, but if we know how it works, we can use this mecanism to activate the DNA innactived o maybe repair the DNA.

Role of RNA Polymerase in Gene Transcription Demonstrated

ScienceDaily (July 19, 2010)

•The RNA polymerase is the enzime that create a compatible RNA secuence with the DNA.

•This first step is called transcription. Now we know what happen, but not the details of the process.

Role of RNA Polymerase in Gene Transcription Demonstrated

ScienceDaily (July 19, 2010)

The RNA polymerase form a transcription “bubble” and bend the DNA to make more easier the entrance of the DNA to the active site of the enzime.

The principal structure and function of the RNA Polymerase is conserved in all especies.

Role of RNA Polymerase in Gene Transcription Demonstrated

ScienceDaily (July 19, 2010)

•The formation of the bubble has 3 steps:

1. Union of RNA polymerase with region of DNA.

2. DNA helix unroll

3. Form the bubble allowing the enzime access to uncovered DNA.

•Everything was investigated on bacteries, but it will be studied on human cells.

OBSERVATION

The action of the RNA Polymerase can be investigated to improve the action of the antibiotics against the resistant bacteries, atacking the step of the initiation of the transcription.

MEDICAL UTILIY

Page 16: FOLDING Central Dogma Of Genetic Information by Julian David

MEDICAL UTILIY

Since we know how is the process of replication of DNA and how the

proteins express, the medicine evolutioned a lot.

The knowlegde of the genetic lead the medicine to important and awesome

discoveries.

Page 17: FOLDING Central Dogma Of Genetic Information by Julian David

MEDICAL UTILIY

Genetic studies have shown that many diseases come from errors in these processes and also we are investigating to get to finding cures for many diseases, and why not, find the cause of many more diseases that

affect mankind.

Page 18: FOLDING Central Dogma Of Genetic Information by Julian David

MEDICAL UTILIY

The genetic medicine and all of his process will be the future of the actual medicine, beacuse it will be the treatment of many of diseases

since the moment of conception.

We have problems with the ambient too, we need to be more careful with the planet, because the ambient influences to the adaptation of the genoma and it could be a new problem in futures generations, altering the processes and expressions of every cell in the body.
