“Summon The Executioner” font represents the bold, loud indie rock genre well. It would be used for the masthead on the front cover. The font looks more suitable for a rock magazine than an indie rock magazine. However it is fuzzy which could make it difficult for some readers to understand it. Font “To a Chainsaw” has some distortion however is still clear and easy to read. This font is not as bold as the other fonts but is still attention grabbing and will get the readerships attention so they know the title of the magazine therefore it would be used for the masthead on the front cover. I chose not to use this font as this also

Page 1: Font Analysis

“Summon The Executioner” font represents the bold, loud indie rock genre well. It would be used for the masthead on the front cover. The font looks more suitable for a rock magazine than an indie rock magazine. However it is fuzzy which could make it difficult for some readers to understand it.

Font “To a Chainsaw” has some distortion however is still clear and easy to read. This font is not as bold as the other fonts but is still attention grabbing and will get the readerships attention so they know the title of the magazine therefore it would be used for the masthead on the front cover. I chose not to use this font as this also seems more rock genre than indie rock.

Page 2: Font Analysis

If I was to use “November Morning” it would be used for the masthead on the front cover. Is bold and clear which represents the music genre well as indie rock music is bold and unique. This font will be easy for the readership to read and understand. It still has slight distortion but allowing it to still be readable yet attractive and follow indie rock conventions. I would have to choose between this font and “Lemon Milk”.

This font “Lemon Milk” is bold display making it very obvious to the audience what the magazine is called. And would be used doe the mast head and tiles on the contents page and double page spread However this font is plain and boring not very attractive to the target audience. It is more conventional to use a distorted font and a plain font. This is the final font I want to use as it is clear and similar to other indie rock magazines therefore it follows conventions.
