Food Co-op Vision Statement

We have created a village commons in front of the Kresge Food Co-op. We transformed the empty, unused space in front of the co-op into a lively, welcoming, and engaging place where the Kresge community can come together to share ideas and conversations, and create meaningful friendships. It is a socially interactive area that invites people to build relationships and strengthen their sense of community. It empowers students by providing a medium for community building and a means for representing themselves. The once empty few square feet of ground in front of the co-op have become an example of practical, sustainable building, and a catalyst for unity in the Kresge community. It is a place that focuses on creating social, not monetary wealth. In essence, we have transformed a space into a place.

hopes for the future

At this stage we have designs laid out and ready for the next group to take on and accomplish even more of this project.

We hope that in the end, the co-op will become a more welcoming center for social interaction and represent the power of the Kresge community.
