KERN test service for balancesAmongst other applications, verification is mandatory in commer-cial trade and in medical applications (see www.kern-sohn.com). DKD calibration is one of the tests monitored by the accreditation point (DAkkS - German accreditation point). It tests the metrolo-gical characteristics of your balance and is required, for example, for quality management to ISO 9001. Please order a DKD calibra-tion certificate when you order your device. Periodic retesting (= recalibration) can be carried out by our calibration team, we would be happy to agree the details with you.

Price computing scales

Price computing scales from KERN – robust and easy to handle

Price computing scales are used anywhere where the price of goods is calculated dependent on the weight of the goods. These scales must be verified in accordance with European Directive 2009/23/EEC. Usually, these scales are in verification class III.

KERN mobile retail scales are compact in size and therefore save space on the sales counter. Thanks to the simple menu structure they are easy to use – saving time and money. Fitted with mains, battery or recharge-able batteries as standard, price computing scales can be used in retail shops as well as on mobile sales stalls.

All price computing scales from KERN have three displays giving you all the important information at a glance:· Weight displayed in kg (verifiable)· Unit price in €/kg or €/100 g· Total price in €

KERN entry level retail scales have memories (PLU). The sales item with the relevant price can be stored against this PLU. In this way, frequently used sales items can be recalled as quick as a flash. This speeds up customer service and reduces waiting times.

Stainless steel /IP65...67 ProtectionKERN balances – not scared of water at all !

Balances used in industrial situations are often subject to extreme stresses and strains. Water, oils, fats, varnish, dust, dirt, flour, small parts etc. are all natural enemies of a balance. In industries such as the chemical, pharmaceutical, food, manufacturing industries etc. balances must be able to cope with these stresses without this affecting their performance.

For use in such harsh environmental conditions, levels of protection are defined, which specify which environmental stresses a system can be exposed to in regards to the level of contact, foreign body and moisture protection, without causing damage to the unit. These levels of protection are described in the following standard: „DIN EN 60529: types of protec-tion, housing“. The IP code usually consists of a two-digit combination, which gives the relevant level of protection, e.g. IP67. The first digit speci-fies the protection level for contact and protection against foreign bodies (protection against dust), the second digit is for the water and moisture protection (splashes of water) - the higher, the better!

KERN stainless steel balances and balances with special IP protection will impress you with their sophisticated design coupled with high-quality material, robust construction and perfect finish. They have been specially developed for use in hygienically sensitive applications, amongst others. Cleaning is easy and hygienic because of the smooth upper surfaces and the materials used.

The weighing ranges of the models available with special level of protec-tion range from 1 – 120 kg and thereby cover the majority of applications in industry and food processing.
