FOOD-PROCESSING INDUSTRY
Our 50-yearhistory
About usCryotek Eng has been working in gas conditioning and gas mixing since the sixties, focusing itsengineering on every sector concerned.
Our applied technology allowed the development of the food-processing industry with a special attentionto the products preserved in protective atmosphere and started a dedicated range of devices especiallyconceived for this sector.
IssueIn the last decades the growing request for wholesome and natural food, with a long shelf-life and without chemical additives, has beenpromoting the development of alternative technologies such as the preservation of products by means of MAP (Modified AtmospherePackaging) systems.
Within this modern-day context, thanks to itsaccuracy and efficaciousness, the MAP technology obviously becomes more and more important for the preservation of fresh food.
The importance of accuracy and quality of
the gas mixtures
• The efficaciousness of the MAP system isgiven by the interaction among the gases, the packing methods and the machineriesemployed.
• A wrong titre of the gas mixture (whichmeans a wrong percentage of the single gases making up the mixture) can give the modification of the organoleptic properties of the products, as well as their deterioration.

GAS MIXING SYSTEMS,
THE ANSWER TO YOUR REQUIRMENTS
Steady pressure
The gas mixing systems assure a continuousand steady pressure and reduce the wasteof gas, giving the correct operation of the machine.
No
gas stratification
The gas mixing systems with variable area allow the certainty of the gas mixturetitre and avoid the risk of gas stratification inside the cylinders.
Cost saving
The gas mixing systems assure the minimization of the purchasing costs related to primarygases and in fewmonths they even allowthe amortization of these costs.
Easy to be used
Our gas mixing systems are easy to be usedand enable the operators to changethe gas-mixture titre by adjusting the valves of the flowmeters. Thisprocedure assures an immediate advantageand place the users in a privileged position compared to theircompetitors.
Gas mixing systemfor the food-processing industry
The measurement of the gases
making up the mixture is carried out
by means of flowmeters in
borosilicate glass provided with
micrometrical valves, produced and
accurately calibrated in our
workshop.
The gas mixing system is housed
inside a small-sized frame. It is
completely realized in stainless
steel, which makes it very light
and resistant even to critical
weather conditions.
GAS MIXING SYSTEMS
At present Cryotek Eng mainly produces three type of gas mixers :
Gas mixers with proportional valveGas mixers with
VARIABLE AREAElectronic gas mixers
WITH PROPORTIONAL VALVE
Their use is absolutely intuitive: the titreof the gas mixture is selected by means of a knob acting on the proportional valve.
WITH VARIABLE AREA
They are intended for all the sectorswhere the certainty and the accuracy of the gas-mixture titre are the mainrequirements for the production processes. Their technical features make them especially suitable for the food-processing industry.
ELECTRONIC➢ They are regarded as the most
technologically advanced gas mixers.
➢ They are provided with extremelyaccurate electronic measurementsystems that allow the perfectadjustment of the gas mixture.
➢ Especially designed for niche sectorswhere accuracy has to join the digitalmanagement and control of the mixing process.

PRO CRYO 2000, PRESERVATION TREATMENT
The sole employment of steel especially suitable for food-processing gas conditioning assures the highest qualityand the observance of what provided by the law. The system PRO CRYO 2000 is the one assuring the full suitabilityof the gas delivery line.
This technology, by means of an immediate electrochemical reaction, allows the pickling, the passivation and thepolishing of any weld on stainless steel (irrespective of surface treatment) and assures quality to the process andsafety to the operator.Only the total control of each step of the welding activity can give the customer the HIGHEST QUALITY.
GAS ANALYSIS
Gas analysis system for Oxygen and Carbon Dioxide
What this device can afford
• – Functionality, thanks to its size and weight– Accurate reading of Oxygen (and with the model «Combi» even of Carbon Dioxide)– Intuitive interface– Minimum required quantity of sampling gas– Easy to be calibrated– Battery life: 7 hours / Alternative charge systems– Quick charge– Needle block alarm
Operation principle
• This gas analyser can manage, measure and record O2 and CO2
levels with a very small quantity of gas.
• Special sensors detect the gas particles: O2 levels are measured
by an electrochemical sensor while CO2 levels are measured by
a non-dispersive infrared (NDIR) sensor. A pump delivers a small
quantity of gas to the sensors and in few seconds the
measurement values are displayed on the screen.
Feasibility studies for gas management
Design and production of prototypes andcustomized products in accordance to the specificrequirements of the Customer, taking into specialaccount the operational, logistic and environmentalvariables.Production of gas appliances and systems incompliance with the strictest regulations in terms ofquality and safety, even related to internationalrequirements.
Installation and start-up of appliances and plantscarried out by our patented and skilled technicians.
Maintenance, calibration and certification serviceson all the appliances and system for gas conditioningand analysis with the aim to assure the accuracy andpurity of the gas mixtures produced.
Training courses for the employment of gasequipment in relation to technology, safety andconcerned regulations. The courses are given byexperienced and qualified personnel and may beattended in Cryotek Eng or at the Customer’spremises, all over the world, wherever required.

MAP CERT (born from SALT Group - 1979) is an organization
that gives professional advice on food quality in MAP
technology.
MAP CERT developped Inspection and Testing Technical Rules
and Regulations providing the guidelines for the whole
production line and the processes that apply the MAP
technology, including the certification of gas systems and gas
plants as well as the selection of the gas mixtures themselves.
The co-operation with Cryotek Eng is based on a mutual
support on the technical advice in relation to gas appliances
and gas plants, as well as inspections and tests.
This co-operation also involves the concerted study and
research for food preservation in MAP, replacing the chemical
additives and placing on the market an innovative safe
technology.
