• Net Irrigated Area to Net Sown Area (%) and • % Paved Roads

Plateau, forested, desert and tribal dominated area are extremely insecure Gangetic and Narmada valley regions are relatively secure

Food Access Index

Food Access Index Indicators: • Rural Wages• Monthly Per Capita

Consumption Expenditure • Agricultural Labourers• Proportion of SC and ST• Dependency Ratio• Rural Female Literacy

Extremely Insecure region are again forested and tribal dominated.

Maharashtra and Rajasthan are relatively secure

Food Absorption Index Indicators: • Access to Safe Drinking

Water• Access to Primary Health

Centres

Bundelkhand region, plateau region of Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh and desert region of Rajasthan are extremely insecure

Bihar, Western UP and parts of Maharashtra are relatively secure

Food Security Index (FSI) FSI is a composite index of Availability,

Access and Absorption Index

Tribal parts of Bihar, Jharkhand, Orissa, Chhattisgarh and Bundelkhand region of MP and UP are extremely insecure

Southern Maharashtra, North western UP and north eastern Rajasthan are food secure regions.

Food Security Outcome Index Indicators: • Under Five Mortality• Underweight Children Bulandshahar, Sidhi, Panna, Mainpuri, Katni and Farrukhabad are extremely insecure Of the 281 districts, 80 are severely insecure, 126 are moderately insecure, 58 are moderately secure and only 11 are secure.
