‘At the nick of Time’ –Welwyn Hatfield First Client Hunger is no longer a third world problem. “Just released from the prison, struggling to buy food as benefits haven't been sorted out as yet, WH foodbank stepped in with an emergency foodbank pack,
up to 3 days meal.” Local people are going hungry from reasons ranging from redundan-cy to receiving an unexpected bill on a low income. Do you want to help, contact us

Welwyn Hatfield areas are teaming up
with the foodbank through a neighbour-

in our community. This raises awareness
about how much need there is in our
community.

Making A Difference
Life is not about how much you get but how much
you give up for it. Volunteers are living to expecta-
tion as they participated in their first volunteer
preparatory class on the 14th of August 2011. Well
done to you guys for all your commitment and
hard work, this is the just the beginning of an ex-
citing experience says Tosin Onabanjo, the food-
bank coordinator.
Come and along and make a difference with oth-
ers. No minute, hours, days spent is too short/
long. Pop in Mondays and Fridays 11am to 2pm to
find out about how you can make a difference.
BECAUSE NO ONE SHOULD GO TO BED HUNGRY!
While you settle at the dinner table to have your favourite pasta with sausage, fen-
nel and spinach; million residents in UK including children are without a meal. It was
for this purpose that the Welwyn Hatfield Foodbank was established to cater for
those who are in urgent need in the surrounding of Welwyn and Hatfield.
On Saturday, the 25th of June 2011, all roads lead to Fountain of Life, WGC as we
celebrated the launch of the Welwyn Hatfield Foodbank. Just afterwards; one month
down the line, the Foodbank took the giant step to open to the public providing
emergency food up to 3 days to people in crisis.
This timing could not be better; as times have proven to be more difficult with needs
increasingly arising. Foodbank across the UK are seeing stocks reduce as demand
increases. In many foodbanks, food is going out faster than it’s coming in.
This newsletter is therefore our armful opportunity to share with you our achieve-
ments, challenges and futuristic plans.

A Long way Support
On the 3rd of Sept 20011,
six volunteers despite the
scotching sun, raised their
eyebrows in support of the
foodbank.
Awareness at the Hatfield
Town Centre generated an
extra £33 pound for the
Foodbank. Thanks to all
volunteers and supporters.
‘Church raise food for food-
bank’
We have received over half a
tonne of food items from individ-
uals, churches and organization.
We would like to thank Rev’d Fio-
na Wheatly and the members of
St John’s church for continuous
donation of food items. You have
taken on a great responsibility to
help those who cannot provide for
themselves and constantly remind
all Christians to live up to God’s
word in service.
Could you, your school, business or
church hold a harvest collection
and donate non-perishable food to
help support local people going
hungry? Thank you!
