FOOTBALL AID, A FAR OFF DREAM IN EARLY 2001 CAME TO LIFE LATER THAT YEAR AT CELTIC FOOTBALL CLUB AND HAS NOW MATURED INTO A KEY MEMBER OF THE FOOTBALL FAMILY. IT HAS CONSISTENTLY AND SUCCESSFULLY DELIVERED ON ITS MISSION EVERY YEAR NOT ONLY TO

RAISE MUCH NEEDED FUNDS IN CONJUNCTION WITH ITS PARTNER CLUBS AND ITS WIDER STAKEHOLDER GROUP FOR ONWARD DISTRIBUTION TO A WIDE RANGE OF BENEFICIARIES BOTH LOCAL NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL BUT HAS CREATED LIFELONG MEMORIES FOR THOSE WHO TAKE PART IN THIS UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY.

As a key stakeholder in the sport we are delighted to help highlight the wonderful contribution this industry makes to society through its charitable and community initiatives and yet is so seldom recognised. Our future is exciting as we seek to expand our ambitions both geographically and in the future experiences we offer our stakeholders.

I am extremely proud to have led Football Aid over the last 13 years and am delighted to hand the reigns over to Daniel Geey, who I know shares my vision and ambitions for the future.

Get involved as you’ll read in this report. You won’t regret it!

I WOULD LIKE TO OFFER MY MOST SINCERE THANKS FOR THE INVALUABLE SUPPORT WE CONTINUE TO RECEIVE FROM ACROSS THE FOOTBALL INDUSTRY, WHICH PLAYS A PIVOTAL PART IN MAKING IT POSSIBLE FOR US TO DELIVER OUR UNIQUE EVENTS. THIS MAKES SO MANY

MAGICAL AND MEMORABLE DREAMS COME TRUE FOR THE LIFEBLOOD OF THE GAME - THE SUPPORTERS. IN TURN IT ALSO RAISES VALUABLE FUNDS FOR A NUMBER OF CHARITIES AND COMMUNITY PROJECTS.

We take great pride in the endorsement we receive from all of our partner clubs and key stakeholders, and believe this demonstrates the high regard in which Football Aid is held within the industry as being the original and best in terms of our unique ‘Live the Dream’ events. Our unrivalled success demonstrates the extent to which Football Aid and the football community have together harnessed the power of football for social good.

Our successful expansion into Italy during 2014 was a significant milestone in our history, and the continued support of the wider football industry has been crucial in helping us to achieve this. We would like to thank all of those who have been part of our journey and helping us build the initiative which together has made so many dreams come true in so many ways.

We look forward to the future with great promise, commitment and excitement, and look forward to your ongoing support.

CHAIRMAN’S MESSAGEDANIEL GEEY

PATRON’S MESSAGEDENIS LAW, CBE

I FIRST BECAME AWARE OF FOOTBALL AID AFTER LISTENING TO THE HALF-TIME ANNOUNCER AT ANFIELD IN THE WINTER OF 2002. FIVE MONTHS LATER I WAS RELIVING MY BOYHOOD DREAM OF STEPPING OUT IN THE RED OF LIVERPOOL AND PLAYING IN FRONT OF THE KOP.

Football Aid as a charity has become an incredible vehicle for football supporters to raise significant funds for a whole range of fantastic causes. Since Football Aid started out in 2001, we have raised over £5m. I have been proud to support the charity on the pitch, as a director and as chairman to guide Football Aid through its next development phase. I believe there are truly exciting times ahead for the charity and with the ongoing support of the football family both domestically and abroad, we hope to bring Football Aid to new audiences in order to continue Football Aid’s exciting adventure.

I AM DELIGHTED TO BE PATRON OF FOOTBALL AID, AND LOOK FORWARD TO BEING PART OF THE TEAM. THE WORK FOOTBALL AID DO AND OPPORTUNITIES THEY PROVIDE TO SUPPORTERS IS SUPERB, AND WITH SO MANY DIFFERENT CHARITIES BENEFITING FROM THE

‘LIVE THE DREAM’ EVENTS, IT REALLY IS A FANTASTIC ORGANISATION.

FUTURE DIRECTION

WITH THE EVER INCREASING STRENGTH OF FOOTBALL, ITS EVER-GROWING POPULARITY, ENORMOUS GLOBAL APPEAL AND GROWING IMPORTANCE AND EXPOSURE IN THE MEDIA, ALONG WITH OUR RECENT SUCCESSFUL EXPANSION INTO ITALY AND OUR ONGOING DESIRE TO EXPAND INTO NEW EUROPEAN AND GLOBAL TERRITORIES, WE FIRMLY BELIEVE DEVELOPMENT OF IDEAS TO WORK ALONGSIDE OUR CORE PRODUCT ‘LIVE THE DREAM’ OFFERING IS A WORTHWHILE AREA FOR GROWTH.

Jersey Festival of Football

Our website brings a multitude of benefits to all relevant partners in today’s fast paced environment. It enables us to stay competitive whilst providing stability in an ever changing market place, allowing us to be open 24 hours a day and accessible to anyone in the world. The Football Aid website provides us with a unique medium to further develop our identity and brand and ensure we ourselves stay unique.

Our vision is to continue to deliver exciting and groundbreaking fundraising events that allow supporters to ‘Live the Dream’.

We will look to continue our commitment to encourage and increase the involvement of groups at all levels of football, ensuring that dreams can be realised regardless of age, ability, race or gender.

Football Aid UK:

Maintain and further strengthen our already unrivalled relationships we enjoy with our partner clubs.

Continue to deliver our events to the highest possible standard, underlining our reputation as the original and best when it comes to play on the pitch events.

Look to identify and secure ‘new’ clubs to join the Football Aid family.

Develop our Masterclass product with our partner clubs to work alongside or as an alternative to our ‘Live the Dream’ offering.

Ensure the Football Aid website continues to evolve and develop with advances in IT.

Offer our sophisticated website mechanism to our partner clubs to explore new and improved fundraising opportunities - i.e. online shirt/merchandise auctions.

Continue to grow our already significant customer database and utilise this for a host of targeted promotion and product opportunities.

Further strengthen our relationships with key stakeholders within the football industry, and build new relationships as we move forward.

Development of our Festival of Football concept on a regional format - further enhancing our fundraising, engagement and sponsor opportunities.

Utilise the latest trends in social media as a mechanism to engage and communicate with our supporters.

Remain to be a permanent fixture on the calendar with all of our partner clubs.

Deliver exciting and groundbreaking fundraising events for all.

Football Aid International:

With the success of Football Aid in the UK, we are now looking to replicate this on a global scale.

With our successful expansion into Italy - we are now in discussions with additional European territories, where there is a genuine interest from key clubs and stakeholders to take on our recognised brand and adopt Football Aid in their regions.

We will ensure processes, methodologies, standards and experiences with new clubs and in new territories remain consistent with our UK operations in order to deliver events of the highest possible standards, and raise funds for chosen charity and community projects in their respective countries.

Development of our Festival of Football concept into new global markets - further enhancing our fundraising, engagement and sponsor opportunities .

Field of Dreams:

We will continue to deliver qualified independent assessment services to validate all grant applications to our partners on behalf of Football Aid.

We will seek to identify key opportunities for Football Aid in support of its International ambitions.

We will seek to explore new opportunities to leverage the world of sport in generating recognition for their CSR agenda and create funding proposals with them in partnership to support those most in need.

We will work to grow and develop our charitable status with the key stakeholders in Sport, creating and building new relationships wherever the opportunities present themselves and add value to our ethos and ambitions.

“Football Aid delivers a dream for football fans whilst helping to generate valuable funds for Premiership Clubs’ chosen charities. The numerous events that Football Aid stages gives a huge amount not only to the clubs but their supporters and many good causes as well.” Richard Scudamore, Chief Executive, Premier League

ALONG WITH THE MAGNIFICENT SUPPORT WE RECEIVE FROM OUR PARTNER CLUBS, WE FEEL PRIVILEGED THAT A NUMBER OF KEY STAKEHOLDERS, PARTNERS AND BRANDS WITHIN THE FOOTBALL INDUSTRY HAVE EMBRACED FOOTBALL AID, AND CONTINUE TO DO SO. WITHOUT THIS SUPPORT, NONE OF OUR WORK WOULD BE POSSIBLE.

“We are delighted to continue to support Football Aid and the tremendous work they do throughout the country, providing fans, who are the lifeblood of football, with a unique opportunity to help raise funds for good causes and to live their dream at the same time. Football Aid is a wonderful achievement and we wish them continued success.” Neil Doncaster, Chief Executive, Scottish Professional Football League

Wrigleys: Wrigley showed unparalleled support for Football Aid by making a considerable donation to secure positions across our Premier League clubs to use in their promotional activities as part of the Wrigley’s Extra 90+ campaign. This campaign also saw the first ever ‘Live the Dream’ Football Aid experience for women.

RBS International: Sponsor of the Jersey Festival of Football.

Barclays: Barclays joined forces with Football Aid in an innovative venture to further the bank’s use of exclusive football based experiences. The initiative was designed to promote Barclaycard Premiership sign up while underlining Barclays’ commitment to Football and increasing participation in sport as a Group.

“For Barclays, the Football Aid partnership is one that allows us to extend our “money can’t buy” association with Football through these unique fundraising events. As Barclays is also keen to further promote itself as a major benefactor to community based corporate social responsibility initiatives, the charitable nature of the Football Aid products aligns itself perfectly with our Group’s corporate aims.” Matt Appleby, Former Head of Sponsorship Marketing, Barclays

OUR EVENTS CONTINUE TO BRING THE SUPPORTERS CLOSER TO THEIR CLUBS WHILE IN TURN PROMOTING A POSITIVE REPUTATION FOR THE SPORT. THE FEEDBACK FROM OUR PARTICIPANTS EXEMPLIFY THE HIGH REGARD WITH WHICH THE SUPPORTERS HOLD THE FOOTBALL AID EVENTS AND HOW MUCH THEY CHERISH THE OPPORTUNITY TO TAKE PART IN A MATCH AT THEIR VERY OWN FIELD OF DREAMS.

“Football Aid brings such joy to fans who have followed their teams over the years, and who can’t quite believe that they are sitting in the same dressing rooms andplaying on the same pitch as their heroes. The fact that a proportion of proceeds from these games go to diabetes research is particularly important to me, as one who has learned to live with the condition over many years.”Danny McGrain MBE, Vice Patron, Football Aid

“Football Aid is about many things. It is about giving to a fine charity, meeting old friends, getting opportunities to play on the big stage and dreams being fulfilled. It is about having fun but taking it seriously. I could go on but for me it is about memories and every single person who has taken part has a clear memory of something from the day they played, a memory that never fades, how many days in your life can you really say that about?”Pat Nevin, Football Aid Ambassador

“I have played in a few Football Aid events over the years and it’s always great to see the fans in action. It gives ex-pros like me the chance to give them something back for once, in return for all their years of support and encouragement. And, on a more personal note, it’s also great to just get back out onto the pitch and relive some amazing memories…”Gary McAllister, Football Aid Scotland Ambassador

“This is a very big thank you to all of the Football Aid staff for giving me the opportunity of having an unforgettable experience. I am a lifelong Arsenal fan and therefore playing the Emirates was a dream come true! We were made to feel like real superstars on the day by your professional attention to detail and all the care taken to ensure our day was better than we could ever have imagined. Everyone should do it at least once in a lifetime as it is a day to talk about and relive forever.

This also goes for my son Mark who was lucky enough to be chosen as a mascot. You have no idea how happy this made my little boy feel, he will cherish the memory till he can go join you and play in one himself. Many thanks to all at Football Aid”Noel Brady, Arsenal FC

“I saw my first Spurs home match (aged 11) in 1967... I believe it was against Fulham and Sir Bobby Robson was playing left half for Fulham!.....I remember spurs won 4-2 (I think!)

I continued to see most of Spurs’ home matches (standing on the old shelf) until late 1970`s when my marriage and then 3 lovely daughters and work commitments did not allow me to go to live games as often as I would have liked.

However since 1967 and throughout my childhood, early adult hood and up to the present day I had always dreamed of playing at the Lane. It has been a standing joke that if asked what I would do if I won the lottery...I have always said “arrange for me and a few mates to play at White Hart Lane!”

I therefore cannot begin to express how special the day and match was for me...and to play with my best mate Andy Dust, after we saw the Fulham match in 1967 together...and we have been playing football together since he was 5 and I was 7 years old...made it even more special for me. At 51 years of age I count myself blessed that I can still play football and so far the legs have not (completely) gone..

Friday’s match was the nearest thing I will experience to time travel....for throughout the day and match I was again that 11 year old kid...” Steve Cornish, Tottenham Hotspur FC

“Football Aid really is amazing. I have had Diabetes since 1984 so I get a double benefit from Football Aid: I get to play at my favourite football grounds and considerable funds are raised for a Diabetes related charity, among others.

This year’s game at the Walkers was so good that despite regular flashbacks I am still struggling to believe it really happened! Every single second was exciting and the game was a sheer joy to play in! It was an honour to play in the same team as Muzzy Izzet and equally special to play against Mike Whitlow, 2 players I have seen many times over the years at Filbo! Playing alongside people you used to watch home and away is a sensation that is hard to describe but it is one of the things that makes Football Aid such an exciting experience.

Thank you Football Aid (for permanent flashbacks.......)”Adrian Landers, Leicester City FC

“Football Aid is a fantastic charity. I am proud to be part of Football Aid’s history and can happily boast to my team mates that I have played at and scored goals at some of the biggest stages in English football.

I was lucky enough to take part in 3 Football Aid events in 2011 and each one holds really unique memories. From the floodlit 4-3 defeat at Leicester to my four goal haul at the first ever Blackpool match, my brace at Villa and the opportunity to share my experiences with a great bunch of team mates and opposition. The Football Aid team deserve special recognition for their hard work on matchdays to bring these events together. But most important is the charity. I have taken part on events that have raised a total of over £30,000 for Football Aid’s partner charities and community football projects. The one thing that will stay with me (apart from my cheesy goal celebrations and awards for Man of the Match and Moment of the Match) is the way these events bring together the whole community. It’s great to see young children right through to proud Grandparents and family at each match.

Thank you Football Aid, I can’t wait to play again next year and beyond.”Andy Harland Aston Villa, Blackpool & Leicester City FC

“Un-ending thanks for continuing to lay on the greatest opportunity any football fan can have - to experience playing at their club’s ground! Oh yes, and Football Aid has also enabled me to play at Hampden and the Millennium Stadium - therefore anybody who has any part in making the pitches available in this way deserves all the praise and a simple email like this won’t ever properly convey how appreciative I am of the chance to experience the grounds from on the grass rather than in the stands.

I have to say that the organisation and detail which goes into the day really makes for a great occasion - playing would be fantastic on its own, but the whole day, with the officials, massage team, team sheets and hospitality/refreshments etc, and professional recording of the event makes it really, really special.

A charity which gives ordinary fans like me, whose greatest attribute is not their skill or ability but their enthusiasm, such a chance is truly in a class of its own - and long may it continue!”Kenneth Cobb, Liverpool FC

“My football aid journey started with an unplanned 45 mins at the Reebok Stadium after a change of date robbed me of the chance to play in the St Mirren game. I got caught by the bug and have now played in over 30 games. Apart from eventually playing at St Mirren Park the ultimate venue had to be the Nou Camp. Walking out the tunnel wearing the number 9 shirt in the iconic red and blue stripes with my son as mascot will long live in my memory. The fact that Pep Guardiola, who had just retired that year, played for the away team was just the icing on the cake. Nobody got within 10 yards of tackling him never mind getting the ball from him. As usual there were players of every shape, size and ability and as always every single one of us enjoyed every second of a wonderful experience. Thank you Football Aid!”Gordon Scott, FC Barcelona

“Thanks again for all your help and support to make this such a special day for me and my family.

Having been a Man City supporter for nearly 40 years (and not seen them win much in that time!!!) I decided not to bother having a 40th birthday party and instead bid for a Man City shirt on the Football Aid website, although I was too late for the 90 minute shirts I was lucky enough to win one of the substitutes shirts.

Following what happened on Sunday 13th May 2012 and the scenes at the Etihad I was convinced I had made the right decision to have the once in a lifetime chance of playing on the pitch of the Champions 2012 - Manchester City.

What an experience, anyone who is passionate about football will know what I mean about the tingles down your neck when you think about leading a team of players in your club colours

down your club’s tunnel with the Captain’s armband on plus your son and daughter as mascots by your side. Well that is the dream that I had the pleasure of living on 21st May 2012 thanks to Football Aid.

Only problem I have now is that I want to do it all again next year!!!

You might hear from me again next year!!!”Paul Safa, Manchester City FC

“Thank you for everything with the Sampdoria game, honestly couldn’t have wished for it to go any better. In fact it is the first time in 20 odd years of playing football I have not minded losing and believe me that is a shocker for me to write that. After the game we were wandering around still a bit star struck (and sun struck) about what we had just taken part in and we couldn’t believe it. It was even better the fact this was the first time it had been done in Italy. Beautiful city, fantastic stadium, amazing weather and a blinding game of football with a couple of my mates in tow. Thanks once again for making the process so easy and enjoyable, it really was a priceless experience. Keep up the good work and hope to be in contact about another Football Aid trip abroad soon.Andy Lumsden, UC Sampdoria

“All I can say is what a great day and a very big thank you to all of you and the Football Aid staff for giving me the opportunity of having a memorable experience to share with my friends and family.

I am a lifelong Man Utd fan, from Manchester and to be able to play at Old Trafford was a dream come true!

We were made to feel like superstars on the day by all your team and the professional attention to detail and all the care taken to ensure our day was better than I could ever have imagined.

I’m very proud to be part of Football Aid history and I would highly recommend that everyone should do it at least once in a lifetime as it is a day to talk about forever and a fantastic charity.”Noel Corry, Manchester United FC

“Words cannot express just how good the day was. From the moment I arrived at the front door I felt like a pro. All the guys from Football Aid were amazing, settling our nerves upstairs before going into the changing rooms. Actually getting to lift the European Cup was something I could only have dreamed of. It was all the little touches that made the day so special.

A pre match rub down, The legends getting everyone into positions and talking through the match. Even though Joe Miller “megged me” the words of encouragement from the staff as we walked down the tunnel onto the pitch. The chat at half-time walking off and the applause as we came off at full-time. I was truly devastated at the final whistle that the second half had gone so quickly. I even asked the ref was his watch correct. It truly was an amazing day.

I’d like to thank Football Aid for fulfilling a big dream of mine, I’m typing this with butterflies thinking about it. Well done guys amazing job!!!Mark Price, Celtic FC

“Growing up in Liverpool, whether you are a Blue or a Red, you have the same passion and dream that one day you’ll wake up and run out onto the hallowed turf in your team’s colours. Once you get a little older, reality shows that it just can’t happen, that even money just can’t buy that. Well, it can, and all thanks to Football Aid!

The people at Football Aid: the organisers, volunteers, kit team, supporters, physios etc etc really step up and go beyond that extra mile to make all your childhood dreams come true for one day, with your every desire and need being sorted, managed and exceeded in every way.

Those that don’t know the game and feel our passion would never understand, but from me - that dreaming kid back in the 80s - to my entire family who attended the event, we cannot praise Football Aid enough for making both my lifetime dream and the hopes and aspirations of the less fortunate come true.”Phil Hogg, Everton FC
