Economics, with governance structure akin to IIMs.

The School is governed by a Governing Board, comprising of academics, industrialists and other

professionals whose expertise in their respective elds add value and give directions to the pursuits of

HSB. The School is endowed with well qualied and experienced faculty and state-of-the-art

Guru Jambheshwar University of Science & Technology, Hisar

In a rapidly changing business environment where past is becoming a lesser guide to future, the

managers need perspective and conceptual understanding of the issues necessary to meet and beat

the challenges. Being fully conscious of the requirement of the emerging global culture we strive to

prepare our students in a way that they become capable of handling the assignments that come their

way as business manager.

We at the HSB facilitate learning by creating an environment that is conducive to make students

academically active, socially aware and culturally responsible business practitioner in future. It is our

endeavour that our students embody the virtues of self initiative, learning to learn new things, hard

work and perseverance.

Our strategy is to encourage the students to take imitative and learn hands on, make experiment,

explore alternatives and attain expertise in a pleasurable manner. With legitimate pride we can assert

that our efforts are bearing fruits as evidenced by the response we have received from the corporate

world in campus placement of our budding managers. This year, more than 100 placements were

arranged through campus placement and the counting is still on. Our alumni are working with Citi

bank, HDFC, ICICI, HUL, ITC, Castrol, Nestle, Unicon, India Bulls, Aditya Birla Group and the like.

I take the opportunity to invite aspiring managers to join us at HSB to bring greater glory to Hisar,

Haryana and India.

Intellectual Property Rights & Technology

Commercialization Cell (IPR & TCC)

The IPRs are a bundle of exclusive rights over creations

of the mind both artistic and commercial. The former is

covered by copyright laws, which protect creative

works, such as books, movies, music, paintings,

photographs, and software, and gives the copyright

holder exclusive right to control reproduction or

adaptation of such works for a certain period of time.

The second category is collectively known as

“industrial properties”, as they are typically created

and used for industrial or commercial purposes. A

patent may be granted for a new, useful, and non-

obvious invention and gives the patent holder a right to

prevent others from practicing the invention without a

license from the inventor for a certain period of time. A

trademark is a distinctive sign which is used to prevent

confusion among products in the marketplace. An

industrial design right protects the form of appearance,

style or design of an industrial object from

infringement. A trade secret is an item of non-public

information concerning the commercial practices or

proprietary knowledge of a business. All this calls for

comprehensive understanding and detai led

deliberations on various issues and intricacies involved

and hence a separate cell was required to address the

underlying objectives. Therefore the University has

established a separate Cell for the purpose of

Documentation and Commercialization of Research.

The Cell is named as “Intellectual Property Rights &

at the time of counseling.

(iv) The mere fact that an applicant has been called for

the counseling does not guarantee admission to a

course. The admission will exclusively depend

upon the number of seats available in a course.

The seats will be lled exclusively on the basis of

relative merit of the candidates under each

category.

(v) For the present, no seat is available under ESM/FF

category. But the seats reserved for the physically

handicapped (differently abled persons) if

remaining unutilized due to non-availability of

categories is higher in merit will get the seat.

(vi) The counseling will start at 10.00 a.m. sharp. The

candidate, who reports late i.e., after his/her name

had been called, will be considered subject to

availability of seats at that point of time in the

be the Haryana School of Business. Any change

in the venue will be notied on the University

website/ departmental notice board.

(vii) The seats remaining vacant in reserved category

after the rst counseling will again be offered to

the same reserved category in the second

counseling. The seats still remaining vacant after

the second counseling will be rst offered to the

candidates of the concerned reserved category at

the start of the third counseling and the seats

remaining unlled upto 4.00 p.m., after being

offered to the candidates of reserved category, will

be converted into General category and lled

accordingly.

Regarding change among various Backward Class

Categories i.e. BC(A), BC(B) and Special Backward

Classes and Economically Backward Classes, there

will no such change in the rst and second

counseling. In the beginning of the third

counseling, the vacant seats will be rst offered to

the relevant category of candidates and if some

seats still remain unlled upto 2.00 p.m. these will

be lled by drawing combined merit list of the

candidates belonging to these categories. If the

seats still remain vacant, these will be converted

into General Category and lled accordingly after

4.00 p.m.

Regarding change from “differently abled person ”

to ESM/FF category, there will be no such change in

the rst and second counseling, but if seat

remaining unutilized due to non-availability of

eligible candidates, they will be rst offered to the

relevant category of the candidates, and if the

same remain unlled upto 2.00 p.m. , these will

be lled from the available candidates of ESM/FF

category, on merit. If the seats still remain vacant,

these will be converted into General Category and

(viii) After the third counseling, a waiting list will be

drawn based on attendance of third counseling

only and the seats falling vacant thereafter be

lled from the said waiting list with the approval of

the Vice-Chancellor.

In case the seats remain vacant after normal dates
