A green enamel shield bordered in gold at the center and contains a gold pentagonal star of Morocco often referred to as Solomon’s seal. The shield in turn is surrounded by a circular gold (Grand Cross and Officer) or reddish-brown (both Commander grades and Knight grade) area bordered in gold with arabesques in gold and in turn surrounded by a green enamel circular area bordered in gold (all grades) with the Arabic inscription in gold, MULA YEL HASAN BEN EL MEHDI BENISMAIL. The reverse (Figure 3) is plain. The two medals (silver and bronze) are void of any enamellings. The Ordinary Commander, Officer and Knight badges are all suspended from a white enamel crescent bordered in gold. The two medals utilize the same suspension in a non-enamel finish identical to the respective medal. The ribbon for the Officer and Knight badges is of equal stripes of red, green and red. The central green strip on the Commander’s neck badge is slightly narrower than the two red stripes framing it. The Order became obsolete Figure 3: Reverse of the Ordinary Commanders neck badge.
