ABOUT SPECIALTY WEEK
The Marriott Project is one of four pro-grams offered during Camp Marriott’s Specialty Week. Instead of regular Merit Badge program, participants select one of four themed programs and engage in activities, Merit Badges, awards, and other offerings based around that program theme. Specialty Week is traditionally largely attended by provisional Scouts (attending individually), but is also open to units. Please see our website for more details!

Explore the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering,
and Math) fields outdoors!
Spend your mornings taking a survey of different Merit Badges
with a STEM focus or going in depth with a NOVA Award
Venturing exploration.
Spend each afternoon engaging in a
different afternoon-long activity, including:
Using forensic science to solve an
at-camp mystery,
Analyzing energy and forces
on the COPE course,
Testing your engineering
skills with catapults,
Exploring the
natural world,
And more!
The week
culminates in a
science fair and
celebration where
participants present the
results of the Patrol Challenge
that they took on with their mentor
and the other members of the patrol
they formed for the week. Challenges range
anywhere from designing a way to power a
campsite to building a bridge to adding to our
growing natural survey of the land!
Participants will also have the opportunity to earn one of
BSA’s NOVA Awards! Many of the badges, Venturing
explorations, and afternoon activities can be used toward the
requirements of the NOVA Awards.
This summer’s featured NOVA Award STEM topics are Science & Engineering!
