CONCEPTThis program is designed to provide the physician, physician assistant, nurse practitioner and resident with practical diagnostic and therapeutic information covering the broad scope of clinical practice. OBJECTIVESAs a result of attending this course, the participant should be able to:• Evaluate the common shoulder injuries and discuss up-to-date treatment modalities. • Recognize the symptoms of polycystic ovarian disease and discuss various evaluation

and treatment methods. • Review environmental emergencies in the pediatric population, how to prevent these

emergencies, and updated treatment measures. • Discuss the role of neuromodulation in dealing with motor disorders. • Evaluate up-to-date evidence on the treatment of aortic stenosis. • Identify the common ailments of the nose and current treatment modalities to

alleviate suffering for patient with nasal issues. • Evaluate types of wounds and effective healing methods.• Define the latest guidelines in tuberculosis and newest treatment recommendations. • Identify the dermatology problems and learn the most recent treatments. • Define and manage diabetic ketoacidosis.• Evaluate and classify heart failure and learn current treatment options. • Review the updates on recognizing and managing neurological complications that are

commonly seen in a primary care setting.• Discuss the latest updates in travel medicine and how to counsel patients on

preventive health while traveling. • Evaluate the top 10 patient-oriented evidence that matters according to the latest

medical research. • Review the latest approaches on how to recognize a difficult patient and how to

effectively deal with problem behaviors to optimize health for him/her. • Evaluate the different causes of poor sleep quality and learn the latest techniques in

promoting better sleep. • Appraise the various health conditions that affect the pediatric population, learn

prevention, and treatment for these conditions. • Evaluate procedures for how to identify depression in the child and adolescent

population and the latest treatment modalities.• Evaluate the reasons why claims are commonly denied and the appropriate codes to

use when billing for services. • Review the techniques of motivational interviewing, using patient’s own ambivalence

about change as a powerful fulcrum to promote change in his/her behavior to reach desired goals.

• Recognize common radiology images to improve the decision making process. • Evaluation of skin lesions and treatment modalities.• Evaluate the various legal risks that pose a threat in one’s office practice. • Discuss the latest Medicare regulations and how to comply with them in one’s

practice.
