Interviews with 1,036 adult Americans conducted by telephone by ORC International on November 11-13, 2011. The margin of sampling error for results based on the total sample is plus or minus 3 percentage points. The sample also includes 925 interviews among registered voters (plus or minus 3 percentage points) and 480 Republicans and Independents that lean Republican (plus or minus 4.5 percentage points).

In addition, the sample is comprised of 552 interviews among men (plus or minus 4 percentage points) and 514 women (plus or minus 4.5 percentage points).

The sample includes 834 interviews among landline respondents and 202 interviews among cell phone respondents.
