FOURTH DEGREE: Fr. Valerian Grubb, OSB Assembly #1844 MEETING MINUTES FOR 9.16.2021:

Our meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM in Squier Hall. FN Swortz started the Assembly Installation of

Officers ceremony by introducing the District Master Steven Schweyen, who asked for a prayer by (Father)

“Fryer” Brunet saying the prayers. Then followed by the flag pledge. He then conducted the entire ceremony,

reading the duties of each officer, both present and absent, so all would recognize the important duties of

each office. He exacted an oath for all officers present to do their duties until relieved. Father Paul installed

the blessed jewels to those present. At the end, Father Paul instilled a blessing on the officers and Assembly.

FN Swortz then gave a report that the Warriors to Lourdes golf tournament was cancelled again, because of

covid, and he requested a refund of our sponsor fees and received $125 back. Paul queried the body if we

should participate in the KCIC program again this year. That is the only fund raiser we do and we will be able

to buy one case for $125 if Paul would pick them up. Moved by Woolery, 2nd by Dorfner to participate in KCIC

in November. Motion passed. Father Paul then updated us on the Guadalupe Shrine progress and spoke of

the donations of an irrigation system, and a fund drive by Catholic Daughters to build a beautiful rose garden,

for the shrine, with Kevin Martin Landscaping. The parish is accepting donations at this time. Anyone wishing

to contribute to the Rose Garden can contact Judy Swortz at 253-582-0373. “Father” then told how he had the

vision of Our Lady of Guadalupe who requested the shrine. District Master Schweyen advised of upcoming 4th

degree exemplifications. If you know of any 3rd degree who would like to move up to 4th degree, contact our

Faithful Navigator for application and detail. Meeting concluded at 6:35 PM. Watch email for next meeting
