WEDNESDAY SEMINAR
This week’s Wednesday seminar will be hosted by Professor Jeremy Tomlinson and the speaker is
Professor Stefan Neubauer of the Oxford Centre Clinical Magnetic Resonance Research (OCMR).
The title of his talk is “Non-invasive assessment of cardiac and liver disease with magnetic
resonance methods” The talk will begin promptly at 1pm in the Robert Turner Lecture Theatre, and
sandwiches for those attending will be available from 12:45pm.

THEME COORDINATOR AND FACILITATOR FOR NIHR DATABASE 128331
Grade 7: £31,076-£38,183 per annum
We are seeking an enthusiastic Theme Coordinator and Facilitator for NIHR Database to work withina research team headed by Professors Rajesh Thakker, May Professor of Medicine at the OxfordCentre for Diabetes Endocrinology and Metabolism (OCDEM).
The successful applicant will work on a project funded by the National Institute for Health Research(NIHR) Rare Disease Translational Research Collaboration (TRC).
The NIHR has established a Rare Diseases Translational Research Collaboration (RD TRC) to increaseresearch collaborations that will lead to improved diagnosis, treatment and care for people with rarediseases.
The post holder will oversee the collection, processing and storage of samples and data. Thesuccessful candidate will work closely with the support staff and the research team to ensure that allthe requirements for the study are in place, necessary regulatory and ethics approvals are obtainedand the clinical study meets the governance criteria. The Theme Coordinator and Facilitator for NIHRDatabase will be responsible for preparing and presenting status reports as well as preparing regularupdates and promotional materials for all stakeholders.
Candidates should have experience in using databases, be knowledgeable in research theory andpractice and competent in data organization. The successful applicant should be educated tomasters’ level in a relevant discipline or have equivalent knowledge and experience. Excellentinterpersonal and organisational skills are essential to this post. GCP training and knowledge of NIHRlandscape and rare disease initiatives would be an advantage.
This position is full time, fixed term for 12 months. Interviews will be held on 2 June 2017.
