CALL FOR APPLICATIONS FOR SUMMER SCHOOL ON COMPARATIVE URBAN
STUDIES, BERLIN, AUGUST 2013
Research Committee 21 (RC21) of the International Sociology Association, the International
Journal of Urban and Regional Research (IJURR), the Foundation for Urban and Regional Studies
(FURS) and Humboldt University at Berlin invite applications for 25 places on our third
collaborative School on Comparative Urban Studies, to be held in Berlin from 17 August to 3
September 2013. The School is being held in conjunction with the RC21 Conference on the theme
of “Resourceful Cities”, to be held on 29-31 August.
SCHOOL THEMES
As in previous years, the School will focus on the interaction of theory and methodology in
the study of the city. The School will address three broad themes:
1. The value added of comparative research in urban studies and the changing nature of the
urban question. How and why are cities across the world changing, and with what consequences?
2. What new research tools and methodologies are appropriate to making sense of the
changes occurring in contemporary urban society? How should we make use of or combine,
ethnographic research and the analysis of quantitative data?
3. Are our theories appropriate for the study of contemporary urban form and society,
especially in the global South where we often apply theories of the global North without regard to
the specificities of old and new urban contexts in the South?
Lectures will cover topics cutting across these themes considering the theory and practice of
comparison, linking theory and method, and providing insights into quantitative and ethnographic
methods. Classes will focus on the global North and global South. Special attention will be paid to
our host city, Berlin, and other cities in Germany.
FORMAT
The School follows the precedent of the inaugural and second Schools held in São Paulo in
2009 and Amsterdam in 2011 in providing younger scholars with an opportunity to learn from
established scholars, from diverse disciplines and parts of the world, through both formal classes
and informal interaction. The School will also help younger scholars to present, discuss and prepare
for publication their own work. Formal sessions will be spread across twelve days. Sessions will
typically comprise presentations by two senior scholars, discussions, and student presentations.
Participants will be required to prepare in advance and complete assignments during the School. In
addition one day will be set aside for dedicated sessions of how to get work published (both as
books and in journals) and how to raise funds for research. Participants will also be able to enroll on
guided tours around parts of Amsterdam, and time will be scheduled for them to meet informally
with senior scholars for detailed comments on their assignments, with the goal of helping students
to learn how to prepare and organize work for presentation at an international conference and
publication in an international journal. Participants will receive an e-reader with the syllabus well in
advance. The language of the School will be English. Students will also be required to present a
paper at and participate fully in the RC21 conference.

FEES
The fee for the course is 1000 Euro. This amount covers the organizational costs and
includes shared accommodation for 17 nights (in double rooms), a welcome reception, the e-reader,
the final dinner, the registration fee for the conference and RC21 membership for 4 years. For those
who do not need accommodation, the fee is 350 Euro.
SCHOLARSHIPS
Funding from FURS and RC21 allows us to offer approximately 15 scholarships to students
from developing countries (classified as B or C by the ISA
(see: http://www.isa-sociology.org/table_c.htm). Scholarships will provide a flat rate contribution to
travel expenses, local shared accommodation from 17 August (arrival) to 3 September (departure),
fees for the School and the Conference, the reception and final dinner, etc. The scholarships will not
cover daily subsistence expenses (meals, local transportation costs, …).

deadline for applications is Friday 24th February 2013. If applicants have not already submitted an

Call for Papers: A special issue of Urban History on Cold War Cities

Cold War history is not yet an urban history. Cities remain mere backdrops for the actors,
strategies, and technologies of the Cold War. The relationship between Cold War geopolitics and
urban spaces, or simply the urban contexts for many of the Cold War’s pivotal conflicts, both
remain largely unexamined. The one exception, to date, is a rich vein of cultural and architectural
history, history of science, and historical geography, on American cities – with a particular
emphasis on civil defence, fallout shelters, and what Laura McEnaney (Civil Defense Begins at
Home, 2000) calls “the militarization of everyday life.” And yet even this literature is not always
rooted in specific urban landscapes. Instead, it often takes ‘the city’ as a frame through which to
study American cold war culture or national initiatives such as civil defence.
This proposed special issue of Urban History has three objectives: to draw stronger links
between urban history and the international history of the Cold War; to do so through a set of papers
that includes but extends far beyond American case studies; and to carefully consider the urban
dimensions of the Cold War. We seek papers that address one or more of the following questions:
1. In what broad sense was the Cold War, as a ‘conflict’, an urban phenomenon? What was
-- and what made -- a Cold War city?
2. Can we expand the rich cultural, architectural, and planning history of the Cold War,
largely focused on the United States and the 1950s, to other times and places?
3. Can we expand the rich histories of Cold War science and technology, largely place-less
or focused on laboratories and military facilities, to urban settings?
4. Can we do more to root “the militarization of everyday life” in specific urban contexts,
and specific landscapes?
5. Can we connect the complex social, economic, political, and cultural histories of the Cold
War to specific urban histories?
6. Given the current interest in international histories of the Cold War, can we craft
international, transnational, or comparative histories of Cold War cities?

Консюмеризм как форма культуры потребления капитализма на протяжении долгого
времени связывался с удовольствием, счастьем и самовыражением. Однако в современном
обществе консюмеризм все чаще становится объектом критики, переосмысления и основой
для практик сопротивления. Исследователи говорят о росте <политического консюмеризма>,
под которым понимается использование критического потенциала потребления с целью
влияния на социальные процессы.
Эта тенденция проявляется и в современном российском обществе. Различные агенты
- государство, корпорации, социальные группы и отдельные индивиды используют
критический потенциал потребления. Например, государство ведет <торговые войны> с
другими странами, ограничивая ввоз произведенных в них товаров. Производящие
потребительские товары корпорации вынуждены поддерживать принцип корпоративной
социальной ответственности под напором запроса общества. Многообразие групповых и
индивидуальных стратегий включает бойкоты потребительских товаров (антиглобалистский
бойкот McDonalds), марши (марш против использования меха в Санкт-Петербурге) и др.
Возвращаются старые и появляются новые практики переработки мусора (например, в
нескольких российских городах функционируют <экомобили> - передвижные пункты сбора
опасных отходов) и повторного использования вещей (блошиные рынки, благотворительные
магазины и барахолки). Критика консюмеризма, гламура, демонстративного потребления
занимает важное место в российском медиа-дискурсе и популярной культуре (фильмы
<Глянец>, <ДухLess>, романы Виктора Пелевина).
Критический подход к потреблению, а также эмпирические исследования,
посвященные дискурсам и практикам, связанным с использованием критического
потенциала потребления в постсоветских обществах, станут основным фокусом для
дискуссий в рамках данного семинара. В ходе семинара предполагается обсудить на
эмпирических примерах как современные тенденции в сфере потребления - анти-
консюмеристские практики, <этическое>/ <зеленое> потребление, <медленное>
потребление, бойкоты товаров, рост популярности ресайклинга, hand made и т.п., так и то,
каким образом исследователи в сфере социальных наук - социологии, культурологии,
антропологии - подходят к их изучению.

2. Эко-потребление в России: дискурс и практики
3. Потребление как сопротивление в молодежной культуре потребления

Housing policies and the post-socialist city: actors, strategies, outcomes
Session proposal for the 5th International Urban Geographies Conference of Post-Socialist
Cities Urban Research, Urban Theory and Planning Practice in Tbilisi, 11 th-13th September 2013
Research on post-socialist cities is often focused on residential change, stressing topics like
suburbanization, gentrification, residential segregation and residential satisfaction. Moreover one
can find a decent number of studies that tackle issues of new types of housing and socio-spatial
changes in neighborhoods in general. Rather minor intention is paid to the politico-institutional
settings that shape these issues as well. Especially the role of national or municipal housing
policies, strategies of urban authorities or the effects of public-private partnerships on housing do
not get so much attention. Therefore the aim of this session is to bring together papers that focus on
the role of East European and Post-Soviet states and municipalities in terms of housing policy
making and the influence of transnational policy networks.
Furthermore this session invites contributions that tackle the broad theme of social justice
and housing. In particular we’d like to focus on the perception and strategic position of East
European and Post-Soviet municipalities regarding the availability and affordability of housing for
particular social groups and various forms of displacement processes.
Therefore papers on various topics are welcomed, and not limited to:
What is the role of housing policies for changes in post-socialist cities?
How are post-socialist housing policies constructed?
What are the major discourses that shape housing policies in the post-socialist city?
What are key challenges to post-socialist housing policies?

II Konferencja Młodych Badaczy. Emocje w życiu mieszkańców miast
Szanowni Państwo,
pragniemy serdecznie zaprosić doktorantów i studentów studiów magisterskich do
uczestnictwa w II Interdyscyplinarnej Konferencji Młodych Badaczy związanej z tematyką miejską,
która odbędzie się 21-22 czerwca 2013 r. w Sali Kolumnowej Towarzystwa Naukowego w Toruniu,
ul. Wysoka 16.
Temat konferencji: "Od miłości do nienawiści - od zachwytu do pogardy. Emocje w życiu
mieszkańców miast do końca XIX w."
Cele i założenia:
Emocje są integralnymi elementami społecznych zachowań, działań, interakcji oraz
komunikacji. Biologiczny wymiar ich wyrażania w postaci gestów tłumaczony jest na poziomie
symboliczno-językowych nośników znaczeń, specyficznych dla każdej kultury. Zmieniały się one
w czasie powodując odmienne wartościowanie i sposoby wyrażania tych samych emocji na
przestrzeni dziejów. Ewoluowały przy tym sposoby tłumaczenia przez człowieka źródeł ich
pochodzenia - obarczano nimi bogów, wpływ gwiazd, "humorów" ciała, dźwięków, miejsc,
krajobrazów. Uczucia są z jednej strony radykalnie subiektywne, własne i indywidualne, lecz
jednocześnie kształtowane i programowane kulturowo oraz wywoływane chemicznie i fizycznie. Z
punktu widzenia historyka badanie dziejów emocji jest o tyle istotne, że świat uczuć każdego
człowieka wpływa na podejmowane przez niego działania, a więc emocje są determinantem
podstawowego przedmiotu badań tej dyscypliny.
Badania nad emocjami w naukach humanistycznych mają już ugruntowaną pozycję wśród
podstawowych problemów badawczych. Historia emocji jest przedmiotem dociekań przede
wszystkim literaturoznawców, kulturoznawców, filozofów i historyków sztuki. Postulaty szkoły
"Annales" zaowocowały dużą różnorodnością badań nad przeżyciami psychicznymi człowieka w
dziejach na Zachodzie Europy. Szczególnym zainteresowaniem cieszyła się tematyka związana ze
strachem i miłością. Podstawową trudnością w odtwarzaniu uczuć jest pośredni charakter źródeł
jakimi są w przeważającej większości źródła pisane, ikonograficzne i muzyczne. Konieczne jest
każdorazowe tłumaczenie emocji wyłaniających się z zachowanej treści za pomocą odpowiednich
dla epoki kodów kulturowych. Celem konferencji jest m.in. zachęcenie młodych badaczy do
spojrzenie na emocje w dziejach nie jako temat poboczny, lecz główny punkt zainteresowania.
Pozwoli to w dalszej perspektywie na lepsze zrozumienie zachowań ludzkich w dziejach oraz
wynikających z nich efektów, które niewątpliwie pozwolą na lepsze zrozumienie natury człowieka,
także tego żyjącego współcześnie.
Cezurą wyznaczającą zakres zainteresowań konferencji jest pojawienie się nowych
rewolucyjnych nośników przekazu (massmediów) jakimi było radio (1894) i film dźwiękowy
(1927), które otworzyły nowe drogi wpływania na emocje ludzkie, np. poprzez manipulowanie nimi
w propagandzie pocz. XX w. Miasta jako centra największych skupisk ludzkich przez stulecia były
arenami eksplozji gromadzących się ludzkich uczuć - pozytywnych i negatywnych. To m.in. na
ulicach miast wybuchały rewolucje, powstania, odbywały się karnawałowe zabawy itp.
Wymiernym efektem konferencji będzie wymiana doświadczeń młodych badaczy z nowymi
nurtami badań oraz możliwość nawiązania kontaktów z naukowcami związanymi z Komisją do
Badań Dziejów Miast.

Social and Human Sciences on Both Sides of the ‘Iron Curtain’
October 17-18, 2013
Call for Papers
This international conference is intended to put together research findings on the history of
social and human sciences in the capitalist West and the socialist East during the second half of the
20th century. This topic has recently gained a considerable attention of historians, sociologists and
philosophers of science as indicated by a growing number of conferences and publications in the
past couple of years. A concept of “Cold War science”, in particular, has been applied to a variety
of cases ranging from post-war economics and cybernetics to psychology and philosophy in
different countries. An approach in terms of Cold War science tends to emphasize the importance of
strategic objectives (military, intelligence) and of governmental resources in promoting certain
analytical tools, in defining research agendas and in changing disciplinary hierarchies. The decisive
role of Government and specific ideological contexts seems by now quite convincingly
demonstrated. However, we would like to substantiate the straightforward knowledge/power thesis
by considering new forms of critique and reflexivity in the social and human sciences, which have
emerged during the after-war period. Post-structuralism, social studies of science are a few but
important examples of this intellectual development. The context of Cold War also contributed to
the emergence of new interdisciplinary approaches and cross-disciplinary fields like, for example,
area studies on both sides of the Iron Curtain.
We invite scholars from different disciplines (history, sociology, economics, psychology,
science studies or philosophy) to contribute papers on the post-war development of different
research domains in the West and in the Soviet bloc. Comparative papers are especially, but not
exclusively, welcomed. We're interested in the social history of institutions, concepts and
techniques, as well as of intellectual transfers and exchanges. Since most research in this area is
limited to the mid-20th-century, case studies extended to the sixties and the seventies would be of
particular interest.
To avoid areal (geographic) or disciplinary segregations, the conference sessions are
intended, instead, to be problem-oriented. We propose three main axes of reflection but the list of
questions for discussion may of course be extended following your suggestions:
1) How did the context of the Cold War influence, both conceptually and institutionally, the
production of knowledge in the social and human sciences? Did this context occasionally create
conditions for niches of intellectual autonomy?
2) What were the conditions and effects of knowledge transfers (people, ideas and tools)
between the Europe and the U.S., or between the West and the Soviet bloc, during and after WWII?
3) What post-war developments in epistemology and methodology of the social and human
sciences did shape or transform the contemporary “order of disciplines” (epistemic cultures,
disciplinary borders and academic hierarchies)?

Postdoctoral Fellowships
PLEASE NOTE: The deadline for applying for the 2013-2014 postdoctoral fellowships
has been extended to April 1, 2013. The positions are open as to discipline/regional focus.
Postdoctoral fellowships are awarded annually by the Havighurst Center. Fellowships are
given in all areas of academic study related to Russia and other post Soviet countries, including
history, politics, music, culture, art, architecture, religion, literature, and daily life.
The fellowships are designed for junior scholars of exceptional promise. Successful
candidates will have the opportunity to pursue their research agenda for a calendar year with the
support of a competitive salary and up to $2,000 for research support.
Fellowships are for one year, but may be renewed for a second year. Fellows normally are
expected to teach four 15 week courses in the field of their primary research interest per year and to
assist in developing Havighurst programs in the area of their interest. Fellows must have their Ph.D.
(or Kandidat nauk) in hand by the beginning of their fellowship, and those without native ability in
English must have a demonstrated capability to lecture in English. Fellowships are open to
applicants from all countries. The areas that the Center is interested in will change annually, and
candidates are encouraged to contact the center directly before making an application.

Aestheticization of Public Space
This conference is organized in several pre-planned sessions, devoted to the multiaspect
topic of public space being considered both as a specific space of urban forms, accessible to the
public (public space), the space of urbanism, as well as a virtual dialogue space (public sphere)
including the public debate analysed by specialists in political sciences and as a cyberspace in case
of extending this space of public debate.
“Aesthetic” means reflections acting on practices and artistic productions in the city and also
the analysis of aesthetic experience and sensitive (aesthesis) of inhabitants. The notion of
“aestheticization of public space” reflects a series of phenomena linked with the growing
importance of aesthetics in the public space: increasing interventions of artists (urban art,street art,
public orders, etc.) in urban public spaces, convening of sensitive in the urban production,
development of “aesthetic” mobilizations.
There will be three sessions during the first semester of 2013, then two more in the second
semester, in Slovakia and in France.

Заплановано видання матеріалів, що відповідають темі конференції, після її
проведення. Матеріали подавати в електронному вигляді (дискета, диск) і роздрукований
текст. Вимоги до оформлення матеріалів: мова – всі слов'янські, обсяг – 10–12 повних
сторінок. Параметри сторінки: всі поля – 2,5 см. Розмір паперу – А4. Шрифт Times New

The Social Science History Association conference for 2013 will be held in Chicago, from
November 21-24. The conference theme is "Organizing Powers."
SSHA draws submissions of papers and panels through networks organized by topic or field.

We invite submissions of papers or (preferably) full panels by February 15, 2013. We are
also interested to hear from people who are willing to volunteer to be chairs or discussants, or have
ideas for panel topics. For more information including the conference-wide call for papers, and the

Submissions of either individual papers or whole sessions are welcome. This year all panels
of research papers should have four papers when submitted, for full consideration. You will need to
provide an abstract, title and contact information, and designate a network (or networks) where your

network organizers to ‘own’ the session idea and be able to add suitable co-presenters (who may

The conference aims at deepening a current problem, namely the transformation of society
and its influence on economy modernization, within the Central and Eastern Europe’s spaces
marked by an obvious diversity. The main objective is to detect possible interferences, influences or
divergences between the progresses recorded in this part of Europe, starting in pre-modernity, very
useful for understanding contemporary trends.
The debates will consider, in an interdisciplinary manner (by using the methodological
suggestions offered by demography, sociology, cultural anthropology, social history of knowledge,
social history of art, religion sociology, etc.), the following topics:
Politics, administration and territorial reorganization
Population mobility and the use of the resources
Trade and consumption (basic food and luxury products, elite culture and popular culture,
religious art).

элементами научной школы «Актуальные проблемы исторических исследований: взгляд
молодых ученых»
Конференция состоится 21–24 августа 2013 г. в Новосибирском Академгородке
(Институт истории СО РАН). К участию приглашаются исследователи в возрасте не старше
35 лет. Развёрнутые материалы необходимо подать в срок до 1 июля 2013 г.
Работы авторов, принявших участие в конференции, будут опубликованы в сборнике
материалов научного форума. Заочное участие не предусматривается.
Требования к оформлению статей: объём до 0,5 а.л. (20 тыс. знаков, включая пробелы,
с учётом сносок), сноски автоматические, гарнитура Times New Roman, кегль 12,
полуторный интервал.
К статье прилагается аннотация. Схема аннотации: 1) автор и название статьи; 2) цель

В статье проведен анализ формирования источниковой базы славянской
историографии восстания 1863–1864 гг., выделены хронологические этапы этого процесса,
определены факторы, детерминирующие в специфике каждого из периодов и их особенные
черты.

Perm State University under the auspices of the Open Society Institute (OSI) with the
participation of the European University at Saint Petersburg, and the German Historical Institute in
Moscow are pleased to announce a call for papers to the international conference
24 to 26 of June 2013, Perm State National Research University, Perm, Russian Federation.
After being founded as a student venue, the ’Constructing ‘the Soviet’?’ conference is
moving to a new level. From now on we will invite not only undergraduate and postgraduate
students, but also the experienced researchers in the fields of the social science and humanities.
The conference aims at elucidating the European and international context of ‘the Soviet’
phenomenon. The questions that we wish to focus on are: What is ‘the Soviet’? Is it possible to
specify ‘the Soviet’ practices and phenomena? How legitimate is to speak about the “Soviet
civilization”? How can we contextualize the history of the USSR as an integral part of European
history?
We strongly encourage interdisciplinary approaches and research relying on both traditional
methods (political, social, economic and cultural history) and the new theoretical frameworks such
as new political history, new cultural history, historical anthropology, the history of emotions, the
history of the soviet subjectivity, historical memory and the history of transfers.
The organizing committee reserves the right to select participants based on the submitted
abstracts. The working languages are Russian and English. Abstracts should not exceed 3000 words
including references (footnoted Chicago style is preferred). Please include your first and last names,

Volunteering in a Project about Holocaust in Ukraine
Pedagogical tool on the Ukrainian memory of the Holocaust
The idea of the project was born in 2011 while few of us were working on the creation of an
exhibition about the life of the Jewish community of Lviv, Shalom Ukraïna, which was presented in
Lille in March 2012. While working on the specific topic of Lviv, we found it really interesting to
start a new project about the state of memory of the Ukrainian society regarding to the history of the
Holocaust on its territory. Then, the French nongovernmental organization, Histoire de Savoir(s),
decided to gather a European team (France, Germany and Ukraine) to work on and to start
fundraising to make the project realizable. When the positive decision for the grant from the “Youth
in Action Program”, we all meet in Kiev in December 2012 to lay the first foundations of our future
action.
The project aims to create a pedagogical tool on the topic of the contemporary memory of
the Holocaust in the Ukrainian society composed by a short movie, a booklet and a website. It will
be designed for a young audience (up to 15 year old) and used by teacher and actors of the civil
society (non-formal education).
Our idea is to try to draw a picture of the current state of memory in the Ukrainian society
that shows the complexity and diversity of it (individual, collective and state level). More than
working on the historical chronology of facts, we want to make the audience aware of the memory
process, its changes, subjectivity and influences. Then, the purpose of the pedagogical tool will be
more to reflect on the way we remember – as young people who did not experiment the events,
taking the Ukrainian case as a studying case that could help to comprehend our own situation.
The structure of the toolkit, we decided to use, is a step-by-step one. We plan the toolkit to
be used in this way:
First the movie will introduce to the general topic by presenting few individual cases
and diversity of perceptions in the Ukrainian society (common people, experts, …) replaced in the
general context of Ukrainian memory – mentioning the other components of it.
Second, the booklet will come after to work on the movie. It will be composed of
two main parts :
The first one will introduce to the historical background that will provide necessary
knowledge to understand the topic. It will be as short as possible, using as much as possible visual
data (maps, chronology, graphics, photography…).
The Second part will aim to raise more general questions connected to the process of
memory/remembering collectively, as the subjectivity of the memory, the political uses done of it,
the exactness of the History…
Finally, the website will serve as a platform to provide more information about the
topic, to debate about it as well as to present our work.
Dates: from December 2012 to March 2014. Main steps and meeting for the project:
From January to June 2013: three German volunteers will gather information,
interviews and pictures related to the topic.
March 2013: field work with the cameraman through Ukraine
Summer 2013 : meeting in Leipzig
Autumn 2013 : meeting in Lille
Spring 2014 : final presentation of the tool in France, Germany and Ukraine

general conception, the realization of the movie, the creation of the booklet or website content…

in Kiev. One of the Ukrainians participants is living in Kiev and could help but has no time to do it
herself.
The three German participants will gather data from Bedjansk, Mukacheve and Lviv. Then,
it is important for us to have someone to work about the situation in Kiev and the best will be also
to have someone working somewhere in the eastern region like Kharkiv, Donetsk or…

Советом Российской Федерации. (…) Конституция (…), законодательство (…) продолжают
действовать в части, не противоречащей настоящему Указу» (Москва, Кремль, 21 сентября
1993 г., 20.00, Указ Президента, № 1400).
Этот указ Бориса Ельцина, который одни представляют как единственный способ
выйти из многомесячного неразрешимого конфликта между президентом и парламентом, а
другие обличают как акт насилия, спровоцировал продлившийся 14 дней кризис, в ходе
которого политическое противостояние переросло в вооруженный конфликт. С 21 сентября
по 4 октября 1993 г. Россия пребывала в состоянии острейшего политического кризиса. В
ответ на указ Ельцина депутаты, поддержанные вице-президентом России генералом
Руцким, собрались на экстренное заседание, отказались подчиняться президентскому
решению, забаррикадировались в Белом Доме и оказались в осаде. В городе начались
демонстрации: сторонники Ельцина стали собираться у Моссовета, сторонники Парламента
– у Белого Дома. Политическое противостояние закончилось 4 октября обстрелом
Парламента силами армии, действовавшей по приказу президента, и арестом мятежных
депутатов и их сторонников. Итоги: более 150 погибших и 400 раненых.
Спустя двадцать лет после октября 1993 г. организаторы конференции предлагают
провести социологический анализ этого важнейшего политического кризиса, о котором
сегодня вспоминают так редко. Цель встречи – рассмотреть официальную версию событий,
созданную победителями, которые смогли утвердить свое видение сути и последствий
(прежде всего, в институциональной сфере) октябрьских событий. Поэтому на конференции
должны прозвучать также и альтернативные воспоминания и интерпретации. Ее участникам
предстоит проанализировать все разнообразие личных и коллективных траекторий
политических акторов эпохи, рассмотреть период, предшествовавший конфликту, сам его
ход и последствия. В центре внимания будут как победители, так и побежденные, как
вовлеченные участники, так и наблюдатели. Особое внимание предстоит уделить переходу к
насилию и его влиянию на развертывание кризиса, а потом на его разрешение.
Практическая информация:
Междисциплинарная конференция открыта для заявок от историков, социологов,
юристов, экономистов, политологов, специалистов по международным отношениям и
другим социальным и гуманитарным наукам. Мы также ждем выступления свидетелей и
участников событий, действовавших в разных (физических и политических) точках.
Желающим принять участие в конференции следует отправить на
адрес [email protected] резюме своего выступления (300-500 слов) на одном из
рабочих языков конференции, а также краткую справку о себе (не CV) до 15 марта 2013 г.
Мы были бы благодарны, если бы, помимо резюме на русском или французском, вы также
прислали нам тот же текст и на английском языке.
Авторы заявок, отобранных для участия в конференции, будут извещены до середины
апреля 2013 г.
К 1 октября 2013 г. мы будем ждать от них пространный текст в 5-7 страниц (3000-
5000 слов).
Конференция пройдет в здании CERI, 56 rue Jacob в Париже 18-19 ноября 2013 г.
Рабочие языки: французский, английский, русский (выступления возможны на этих
трех языках, перевод будет обеспечен только с русского на французский и обратно).
