FAITH FORMATION NEWS
Faith Formation Classes start for year 2017-2018: on Tues-day, September 19th from 6:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. for the First Holy Communion students. The Confirmation classes are from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. & also begin on Tuesday, Septem-ber 19th. Please be on time. Registration for this year is closed for First Holy Communion. There are a few spaces left for first and second year Confir-mation classes. Youth Group participation is a requirement for Confirmation. Youth Group meetings are on Wednesdays from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Mass Attendance Record: please bring back the Mass atten-dance record from the Summer or from the Spring semester to the first class and turn it in to the catechist. Dress Code for classes and Youth Group: only long pants, blue jeans or khaki, no shorts, leggings or stretch material pants are permitted. Wear proper blouses or shirts, sleeve-less tops are not permitted. No flips flops are permitted for footwear. Parents Meetings– Very important . Please be aware of the parents’ meetings. They will be announced September 19, 2017 and through the bulletin. It is YOUR responsibility to pick up the Sunday bulletin to find out about meetings and other information. The bulletin can also be found on the Dio-cese website.
NOTICIAS DE FORMACIÓN EN LA FÉ Las clases de Formación en la Fe comienzan: el martes, 19 de septiembre de las 6:30 p.m. a las 7:45 p.m. para la Primera Comunión. Las clases de Confirmación también comienzan ese mismo martes de las 7:00 p.m. a las 8:00 p.m. Por favor estén a tiempo. Inscripciones para este año están cerradas para alumnos de Primera Comunión. Hay espacio aun para alumnos de pri-mer y segundo año de Confirmación. . Grupo juvenil: participación en el grupo juvenil es un requisi-to para la Confirmación. Las juntas son los miércoles de las 7 p.m. a las 8:30 p.m. Record de asistencia a Misa: por favor traiga el record de asistencia a Misa al primer día de clase y entréguelo a la cate-quista. We invite ACTS Brothers and Sisters to consider submitting his or her name for possible service in our parish CORE. The CORE oversees all ACTS activities and events of our parish. The following criteria must be met:
You must be a registered parishioner of St. John Neu-mann.
You must have lived your ACTS Retreat and served in at least one other retreat whether at SJN or else-where.
You must be in good spiritual standing with the church. You must not have a family member already serving in
CORE. You must be willing to serve a three year term and be
present at the October 11th meeting in the Juan Diego Parish Hall.
We ask that you submit your name to a CORE member: Mando Villarreal, Lily Castillo, Marty Alarcon, Betty Buitron, Fred Botello, Ruby Moreno, Larry Dovalina, Alejandra Garza, Angel de Luna, Diana Santos Sanchez, Glen Jackson or Corina Salinas. The names submitted will be placed in two baskets, prayed over, and with guidance from the Holy Spirit, two new Brothers and two new Sisters in Christ will be se-lected as per selection of new members’ protocol. DEADLINE TO APPLY IS BEFORE THE OCTOBER 11TH MEETING! Our CORE gladly serves the Lord, and we pray you will con-sider the potential call to serve Our Lord also!
