Reading Downtown Day is on Week 5, Friday 23rd August. The theme this year is ‘Reading is my superpower’ and ALL students are able to dress up for the day. Students in years K-2 will be attending a performance and activities at Victoria Park from 9.30am. They will be travelling by bus and will return to school before lunch. Please pack recess in a small bag labelled with your child’s name to take down to the park on the day. Students in years 3-6 will be walking to Goodstart Early Learning, Learning Ladder and Bright Beginnings (depending on their class) to participate in reading activities with children aged 0-2. Students will leave school at 9.30am and return at the end of recess. A whole school parade will commence at 2.05pm underneath the COLA in the afternoon. Parents/carers and friends are invited to attend to watch the parade of amazing costumes! If you have any questions please contact the school. Dell Welsh Teacher & Birth to Kinder President
DON’T FORGET TO DRESS UP THIS FRIDAY!
I would like to highlight a wonderful iniave for parent and caregivers currently running at Forbes North PS, jointly planned and presented by Forbes North and Sools as Community Centres. The ‘Launing Roet Learners’ iniave provides opportunies for parents and caregivers to gain insights into how our key learning areas of literacy and numeracy are addressed at sool, as well as how parents and caregivers can support this learning in the home.
Our highly skilled Inruconal Leaders, Mrs Louise Hoey and Mrs Jenny Henry, are the key presenters of these workshops and the parents and caregivers who have atended the fir two events can ate to the value of the informaon provided. Support from SaCC Coordinator Mrs Maree Yapp also allows for those with litle ones to atend, and to enjoy a relaxing morning tea following ea workshop.
If you haven’t atended a workshop yet, but would like to, the next one will be on Friday Augu 30th at 9:30am.
Have a great week! Steve McAlier Principal
*Thanks to those parents who have already responded.

Bedgerebong Show
Last Saturday Will Constable and his dad kindly took Forbes North Public school fruit and vegetable entries to the Bedgerebong show for display. This is a great community event and it is wonderful that our school's produce was on display for judging.
Our produce gained a number of awards including most successful in fruit and vegetables however in this time of drought being involved in the show to boost support was a very positive exercise.
We do plan to enter the Forbes and Parkes shows vegetable sections if we have not eaten all of the goodies by then!!!
