FROM THE PRINCIPAL…..

We are looking very good for a move into “Phase 1” of the Department of Education’s managed return-to-school. Provided that New South Wales continues to experience a continued lessening of Covid-19 cases “Phase 1” will commence next week!

Hopefully you have had a chance to familiarise yourselves with what “Phase 1” will look like at Forbes North. The graphics we have used to publicise our approach are repeated here in this newsletter. You will also find them on our website, on our Facebook page and through the School App.

In a nutshell, we are managing this phased return, with approximately 25% of students at school each day, by utilising our House Groups, as follows:

From week 3:

Years 1 to 6 PATERSON students return on Monday May 11th. They will receive their learning packs, have their activities for the week explained by their teachers, and commence working on their Day 1 tasks. They will then complete Days 2-5 at home, and return to school on Monday May 18th with completed work and ready for a new pack.

Years 1 to 6 OXLEY students return on Tuesday May 12th. They will receive their learning packs, have their activities for the week explained by their teachers, and commence working on their Day 1 tasks. They will then complete Days 2-5 at home, and return to school on Tuesday May 19th with completed work and ready for a new pack.

Years 1 to 6 LAWSON students return on Wednesday May 13th. They will receive their learning packs, have their activities for the week explained by their teachers, and commence working on their Day 1 tasks. They will then complete Days 2-5 at home, and return to school on Wednesday May 20th with completed work and ready for a new pack.

Years 1 to 6 EVANS students return on Thursday May 14th. They will receive their learning packs, have their activities for the week explained by their teachers, and commence working on their Day 1 tasks. They will then complete Days 2-5 at home, and return to school on Thursday May 21st with completed work and ready for a new pack.

Students in Oxley, Lawson and Evans will receive additional learning tasks in their Week 2 packs this week to ensure they continue their learning at home up until their ‘day 1’ in week 3.

Kindergarten will have a similar structure, except that they will have two days at school – Paterson and Oxley on Monday and Tuesday; Lawson and Evans on Wednesday and Thursday.

It is hoped that this “Phase 1” will be in place for just a short while. We’ll keep you posted!

Canteen to open Monday 11th May Hooray! Our school canteen will be open from Monday 11th May for our school community. Menus and prices will remain the same - find the menu on Facebook at Forbes North Public School P&C. Courtney is looking forward to being back and cooking up a storm for your recess and lunch.
