    Introduction

Despite claims to the contrary, overall, there

are no viable, efficacious, or economical GreenAlternatives to replace conventional pest con-trol products.

Virtually all Green Alternatives are bogus, dis-playing negative characteristics such as the fol-lowing

Green Alternatives may be almost totallyineffective except under very specific circum-stances.

Green Alternatives may be prohibited insome jurisdictions.

Green Alternatives may be questionablyhigher in toxicity.

Green Alternatives may be stunningly moreexpensive to use when compared to conven-tional pest control products.

Green Alternatives may be supplied by thesame EnvironmentalTerrorOrganizations thatsought the prohibition of conventional pestcontrol products.

Green Alternatives may have negative side

effects like phytotoxicity ( an effect that ad-versely affects plant growth ) or corrosion orrodentattractant.

Green Alternatives may require extremelyhighinputs of active ingredient since they willotherwise be less effective.

Green Alternatives may require more per-sonal protection for the user.

Green Alternatives may not be safer, norbetter, nor more effective.

General Descript ionof Corn Gluten Meal

Corn Gluten Meal is a natural turf herbicidethat is derived from plant materials, and hasbeen patented as a natural preemergent her-bicide for the control of weeds in turfgrass. It

is packaged as a grain product for dry applica-tions on turf.

Corn Gluten Meal is alleged to be a suitable

Green Alternative to conventional phenoxy her-bicides like 2,4D or Killex. This is not true, since Killex is a postemergent herbicide, whe-reas Corn Gluten Meal is a preemergent.

Furthermore, Corn Gluten Meal is simply un-able to provide satisfactory results to meet thecornerstones for a successful lawn maintenan-ce program.

Corn Gluten Meal can only used as a preemergent which means it is not effectivefor preexisting weeds and consequentlyprovides only poor results on existing weeds.

    Active Ingredientsin Corn Gluten Meal

Corn Gluten Meal is a byproduct of the cornwetmilling process, and is used for animalfeed. It contains mixture of protein, lipid, car-bohydrate, and ash.

Additionally, Corn Gluten Meal contains 10 percent nitrogen by weight, and is a source of ni-trogen.

This product may actually increase the growthof established and uncontrolled weeds since itprovides nitrogen with every treatment.

Mode of Actionof Corn Gluten Meal

Corn Gluten Meal is classified and patented asa preemergent herbicide, which means that it inhibits or suppresses certain weedsbefore they germinate and sprout from the

    soil.

Moreover, this product will not provide thesame eradicative effect of conventional postemergent herbicides like 2,4D and Killex, andit is certainly not an effective alternative.

Corn Gluten Meal has no postemergent effecton weeds, and, unfortunately, it may actually

increase the growth of established and uncon-trolled weeds since it does provide nitrogenwith every treatment.

    Time of Applicat ion

    of Corn Gluten Meal

Corn Gluten Meal must be applied before weedseeds germinate.

Following treatment, weed seedling shoots willemerge normally, but the development of theemerging root is inhibited suppressed byCorn Gluten Meal. After a period of waterstress, the seedlings wilt and die because their

root systems have not developed properly.

By contrast, conventional herbicides, like 2,4D and Killex, will quickly destroy the entireweed. A program of one to three applicationsof Killex will provide seasonlong control of themajority of broadleaved weeds.

Corn Gluten Meal will fail to control weeds withthe same success as conventional herbicideslike 2,4D and Killex.

    Suppress ion versus Control

Corn Gluten Meal cannot be consistently con-sidered as a true alternative to conventionalherbicides, since the weed pests are often only inhibited or suppressed, and not con-trolled.

Inhibition suppression occurs when lessthan fifty per cent of the damaging weed popu-lation is killed by an application of herbicide.

Full effective control can only be attained withconventional pest control products, such as

2,4D and Killex, which will provide a very highper cent kill of damaging weeds.

    Storage of Corn Gluten Meal

Corn Gluten Meal attracts rodents. Further-more, even with minimal ambient moisture in a

typical warehouse, Corn Gluten Meal will turnmouldy.

Consequently, Corn Gluten Meal presents amajor storage problem !

Once Corn Gluten Meal has been purchased, itmust be used within a short space of time. Atthe end of the season, leftover Corn GlutenMeal cannot be stored in an unsupervised andunprotected storage area.

Prohibit ion of Corn Gluten Meal

Corn Gluten Meal is prohibited in some jurisdic-

tions, like the Province of New Brunswick.Several jurisdictions are already prohibitingother Green Alternative Products because theyare deemed as dubious lowerrisk alternativesto conventional products ! Even the bogusGreen Alternatives are now at risk of being thesubject of conspiracies that lead to needless, senseless, and malicious prohibition policies !

    Health Effectsof Corn Gluten Meal

Corn Gluten Meal is alleged to be a socalled lowerrisk green alternative to conventionalturf herbicides.

This may not be true. Corn Gluten Meal maybe unexpectedly higher in toxicity.

Contact with Corn Gluten Meal may cause tem-porary mild irritation.

Corn Gluten Meal may cause sensitization tothe skin and eyes.

People with known corn allergies should avoid

    exposure.

    Conclus ion

Corn Gluten Meal is not safer, nor better, normore effective when compared to conventionalpest control products like 2,4D or Killex.

    Pest Control Products Incident Reporting

The new Pest Control Products Act ( PCPA ) provides Health Canada with the au-thority to require pest control product incident reporting. Incident reporting sup-ports the three key objectives of the new Act to strengthen health and en-vironmental protection to strengthen postregistration control of pest controlproducts to make the registration system more transparent.

The Pest Control Products Incident Reporting Regulations ( IRR ) introduced amandatory incident reporting requirement for registrants of pest control products inCanada and applicants wishing to register new pest control products in Canada. Asof April 2007, registrants and applicants are required, by law, to report incidents, including adverse effects to health and the environment, to Health Canada within aset time frame. The Incident Reporting Regulations specify the detailed reportingrequirements, including the type of incidents that must be reported, and the re-

quired time frame for submitting a report.

Incidents are classified into six major categories effects on humans ef-fects on domestic animals effects on the environment ( i.e.: plants and wildlife ) residues in food packaging failure effects identified in scientific studies.

Incidents are further classified by severity, in the case of humans for instance, fromminor effects such as skin rash, headache, etc ..., to major effects such as repro-ductive or developmental effects, lifethreatening conditions or death.

The time frames for reporting range from 15 days to 12 months, depending on thesubject of the exposure ( e.g., human, domestic animal, environmental ), and the

degree of severity of the effect. The severity classifications and corresponding timeframes are described in the Incident Reporting Regulations.

Members of the public, as well as organizations and professionals in the medicalcommunity, are encouraged to report pestcontrolproductrelated incidents to themanufacturer listed on the label, who in turn must report to Health Canada. Thepublic may also report incidents to Health Canada.

Information provided by the public and by professionals will be added to the data-base on pest control products. The database will be regularly searched for any typeof pattern related to a specific pest control product. If the result of a search indi-cates that there is a trend, such as multiple incidents for a particular pest controlproduct or a serious effect, Health Canada will evaluate the information in conjunc-

tion with scientific literature. If evaluation of this information identifies a safety is-sue, appropriate action will be taken. Such action could range from minor labelchanges to discontinuation of the product.

All incident reports will be placed in the Public Registry, accessible through theHealth Canada website, with the exception of confidential business information asdefined by the Access to Information Act, and personal information as defined bythe Privacy Act.

Force Of Nature presents THE WHOLE TRUTH FROM AN INDEPENDENT PERSPECTIVE from National Or-

ganization Responding Against Huje that seek to harm the Green Space Industry (NORAHG). It is a se-ries of Reports destined for the Green Space Industry, the Environmental Terror Movement, Govern-ments, and the Media, nationwide across Canada, the United States, and overseas. The information pre-

sented in Force Of Nature has been developed for the education and entertainment of the reader by pro-viding a sequence of historical events WITH COMMENTARY. The neutrality of these Reports might be dis-

    puted.

Huje is a term used to describe Enviro Maniac Activists that routinely concoct FEAR MONGERING,FRAUDULENT LIES, MISCONCEPTIONS, COERCION, THREATS, DECEPTIONS, TERROR, and PARANOID

CONSPIRACIES that are DESIGNED to SCAM and DECEIVE the public into believing that families are insome NONEXISTENT danger with conventional pest control products. Huje also SCAM and DECEIVEGovernment Officials into the NEEDLESS, SENSELESS, and MALICIOUS prohibition of FEDERALLY LEGAL,

SCIENTIFICALLY SAFE, TOTALLY IRREPLACEABLE, and ABSOLUTELY INDISPENSABLE conventional pestcontrol products.

All information, excerpts, and pictures contained in this Report were found somewhere on the Internet,

and may be considered in the public domain, serving one of the following purposes archive, educa-tion, promotion, publicity, or press release. The events, characters, companies, and organizations, de-

picted in this Report are not always fictitious. Any similarity to actual persons, living or dead, may not becoincidental. Force Of Nature is TOTALLY INDEPENDENT of any trade association or business operatingwithin the Green Space Industry. Dont thank us. Its a public service. And we are glad to do it.

Force Of Nature, and its various incarnations, is the brainchild of William H. Gathercole and his entou-

rage. Mr. Gathercole is a principal FOUNDER of the Modern Professional Lawn Care Industry in BOTH On-tario and Quebec. He holds a degree in Horticulture from the UNIVERSITY OF GUELPH, and another pure

and applied science degree from McGILL UNIVERSITY. He has worked in virtually all aspects of the GreenSpace Industry, including GOLF, PROFESSIONAL LAWN CARE, and CHEMICAL INDUSTRY, and has served

in public affairs, workplace safety, and environmental compliance. Mr. Gathercole has supervised, con-sulted, programmed, and/or overseen the successful and safe execution of HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDSof pest control applications in the urban landscape. He has trained, instructed, and consulted with

THOUSANDS of turf managers and technicians. Mr. Gathercole has also been an agricultural agronomist. For many years, Mr. Gathercole was a contributing columnist for TURF & Recreation Magazine, Canadas

Turf and Grounds Maintenance Authority. Mr. Gathercole is now retired from Force Of Nature, althoughhis name continues to appear as the FOUNDER. Mr. Gathercole is personally credited for crafting the Golf

Industry Exception Status, that endures to this day. He is also the creator of the signs that are now usedfor posting after application. His vast knowledge of our long journey with Environmental Issues is UNDE-

NIABLE hopefully ! For FIFTEEN YEARS, the strategies designed and implemented by Mr. Gathercoleand his colleagues guaranteed the control of Environmental Terror for the entire Modern Green Space In-

dustry across Canada. Mr. Gathercoles involvement in Environmental Issues reached a fevered pitch inthe 1990s, when he orchestrated, with his colleagues, legal action against the Forces of EnvironmentalEvil in the Town of Hudson, Quebec. Mr. Gathercole is the ONLY TRUE RELIABLE WITNESS of the Hudson

    Affair.

Mr. Gathercole and his entourage have followed the evolution of ENVIRONMENTAL TERRORISM for over aquarter century. Through Force Of Nature, Enviro Maniac Activist Huje are identified on the basis of their

statements, activities, affiliations, and whereabouts. Even though each Enviro Maniac Culprit is a mis-guided adversary, each still deserves our respect. The use of the terms Maniac, Culprit, Terrorist, or Bas-

terd are not accusations of any legal wrong doing. Force Of Nature is simply holding Enviro Maniac Activ-ists accountable for conspiring to change public policies that TERRORIZE, HARM, and THREATEN theGreen Space Industry. Their pretentious prohibitionist rants have created LOSS OF REVENUES, BUSI-

NESS FAILURES, BANKRUPTCY, and UNEMPLOYMENT, inflicting DESPAIR and DESTITUTION for THOU-SANDS of hapless victims throughout the Green Space Industry. The DEPRAVED INDIFFERENCE of Ma-

niac Culprit Terrorist Basterd Huje is viewed as a form of TERROR, HARM, and THREAT against the GreenSpace Industry.
