FORCED PERSPECTIVE PHOTOGRAPHY

“Trick” photographs NOT done in PhotoShop

Use these as examples and then be creative and try your own

Things to Consider Where you place your subject in relation

to the background (Closer or further from you can make the subject look larger or smaller)

Keep the background simple when trying to force the perspective

Use selective focus and clever positioning to achieve your desired effect

Be prepared to shoot the picture MULTIPLE times to achieve the desired effect… You will have to experiment a bit to get it right

As you look… As you examine the following pictures,

talk about HOW you think the photographer achieved the image, and any difficulties you think that they might have had to overcome

Remember… these are almost always the result of multiple attempts. Once you have your vision you will need to continually adjust in order to achieve your vision

Now What? You aren’t actually going to be shooting

any pictures today. Instead, use the remaining time to plan out at least three different forced perspective photos you want to try tomorrow.

Be sure to make a list of any materials you will need to bring from home, as well as talk to any classmates you might need to assist you in your photo shoot

You will actually be shooting these pictures tomorrow, so be sure your camera is charged!
