Investigation Project Neon
A multinational electric energy and gas distribution company received allegations of misconduct by the CFO of one of their Turkish subsidiaries. The whistleblower letter included allegations of receiving kickbacks in tenders, breach of authority and expense reimbursement fraud. We reviewed the tender documents, financial reports, expense reimbursements and the e-mails of the suspect and concluded that the allegations were false. Based our client’s request, we identified the perpetrator who was a member of the group finance staff.
Fraud Risk Management Project Starfish
We supported one of the biggest conglomerates in Turkey in establishing a robust fraud risk management strategy. PwC Forensic Services department drafted an ethics policy, a fraud risk strategy, a fraud risk matrix including company, process and sub-process based fraud risks, fraud scenarios and relevant controls, fraud audit methodology, fraud response plan and fraud investigations methodology.
Anti-Bribery & Corruption Project Beatrice
We provided anti-bribery and compliance due diligence services to a global conglomerate in the food and beverage sector in their acquisition of a poultry company. We performed interviews with target management; reviewed target’s compliance program and other internal policies; tested transactions from compliance sensitive accounts; performed integrity due diligence on the target company and related parties. Our report included our observations, potential red flags and control weaknesses and recommendations.

Corporate Intelligence Project Blue Ribbon
Our client was a global FMCG Company based in the USA. PwC was asked to gather reputational information information on 150+ vendors in different risk categories as part of our client's vendor due diligence process. We performed corporate intelligence searches with different scopes according to the risk categories, to identify publicly available registry information, shareholding structures and issues that may potentially impact the reputation of our client negatively, and prepared separate reports on each vendor.

We performed dispute analysis relating to value of assets of medical device design and manufacturing company to understand whether the sale was intended to deprive creditors (allegations of fraudulent conveyance). Working with valuation and industry subject matter experts, we provided an expert report and expert witness testimony in support of the defendant's position that the sales price represented fair market value.
ComplianceProjectPanacea
For a compliance deep-dive project of the Turkish subsidiary of a global pharmaceuticals company, PwC assisted the client as an expert. The project focused on compliance in sales & distribution and interactions with healthcare professionals & government officials. We worked closely with the client to understand the processes and identified compliance weaknesses. We provided the client with recommendations based on our findings, Turkish pharmaceutical regulations and the client’s global policies.
Distributor Review Project Orange
On behalf of a multinational technology corporation, we performed an independent third-party review at three of its distributors in Turkey. We conducted interviews with distributors' management and detailed analyses of the purchase and sales data including inventory counts and serial number testing to identify any violations of trade controls and sanctions. We also reviewed the distributors' internal policies and performed a review of marketing activities to identify any misuse of funds provided by our client.

Forensic Technology Services Project Gaia
Our client in retail industry received allegations that some of the accountants used company funds for personal transactions. As part of our forensic investigation, our FTS team forensically captured data from computers and mobile phones of the suspects. The digital evidence found on one of the suspect’s devices substantiated use of company funds for personal online gambling activities. Based on our findings, the client obtained a written admission from the perpetrator to be used in further court proceedings.
