October is full of interesting things to do! We have a breakfast outing, dinner outing, Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre outing, Oktoberfest Party and a Halloween Costume Party! If that doesn’t tickle your fancy, we have poker games, bingo and bridge games in the club house each week, along with several wonderful crafts throughout the month! We will be making fall wreaths, spooky eye decorations, light up ghosts, jack-o-lantern carving and witch broom cookies! Shop till you drop at thrift stores, plus a trip out to search for your Halloween costume! Don’t forget our Activities planning meeting and our Black Widow & Spooky Screwdriver cocktails! Every Friday is Happy Hour at 4:00PM. Come one, come all! Breast cancer awareness month is in October and we will have a guest speaker to talk with us all about what we need to know concerning breast cancer. Wear pink on Fridays! Starting in October, we will begin Tai Chi exercise with a new video. Tai Chi is a very interesting technique used to help with balance. Music Matters is with Moreen Bosch is the first Friday of the month. Music therapy soothes and is instrumental in many ways when dealing with loss, cognitive issues and many other things. Wal-Mart shopping has been moved from Wednesdays to Mondays at 10:15AM. Remember, change is good! We will be busy, busy! Make sure you check your calendar each day to see what is going on! October is Adopt a Pet Month Wishbones for Pets Month – Wishbones for Pets is the pet equivalent of Toys for Tots. Founded in 2004, this became the first international annual charity drive designed for pet sitters. The program runs only for six weeks, beginning six weeks prior to Thanksgiving. Each year, pet sitters go throughout their community to gather and distribute various pet items or funds to shelters or other charities or agencies.
