Warning: a printed copy of this document may be uncontrolled. Please verify this is the latest version prior to use.
Contractor must ensure timber removed is allocated to the correct compartment when entered into Electronic Delivery Docket.
2. Management Conditions on Boundaries Boundary Conditions
Private Property Private property (Boral Timber) occurs adjacent to the northern and the eastern boundary of the compartments, as indicated on the HPOM. Private property owners have been notified of the scheduled harvesting and post-harvest burning. The PP boundary must be located and marked by the FT. The boundary location should be identified using on ground survey markers (cairns, blazes, pegs etc) and compass bearings. As a last resort FCMapApp and GPS may be used with caution. Seek advice from the planner if required.
• No harvest disturbance (i.e. cutting & removal of timber products) is permitted on private property.
• A Permit to Enter has been authorised for the use of Nobles Fire Trail for timber haulage through Lot 10.
• Road realignment, widening, grading/blading is permitted provided it is for road maintenance purposes.
• Access roads must be drained, maintained free of debris and left in a trafficable state.
FMZ FMZ 4 - General Management, occurs within the compartment and is shown on the HPOM.
Research Any inventory plots located during the harvesting operation which are not shown on the HPOM are to be treated the same as the surrounding area.
Cultural Heritage Surveys have been conducted. No sites have been identified. An Aboriginal Place Buffer for the Two Sisters site occurs over the northern portion of the compartment however harvesting operations will not have an adverse impact on this site.
If any potential heritage sites are identified notify the planner immediately.

4. Haulage
Haul Route West out Nobles Fire Trail to Red Knob Road then Kianga Road to the Princes Hwy. Or east out Nobles Fire Trail through private property internal forest roads shown on the HPOM to Boral Mill.
At the intersection of Kianga Road (Eurobodalla Shire Council Owned at this point) and Princes Hwy the sight distance is greater than 250m on both approaches. However due to the long downhill run (and speed gain) for vehicles travelling south on Princes Hwy, trucks are not permitted to turn right onto the Princes Hwy from Kianga Road. All southbound trucks must first turn left and travel to a safe turnaround point off the Dalmeny Road.
School Bus Routes Kianga Road is used by vehicles to transport children to school buses between the hours of 8:00am to 9:00 am and 3:00pm to 4:00pm. On weekdays, to the greatest extent practicable, log haulage should avoid school bus times on the above roads.
Dust and Mud Homes immediately adjacent to Kianga Road may be adversely impacted by noise created by log haulage. Truck drivers should reduce speed and minimise the use of engine brakes near these homes.
All vehicle operators are responsible for minimising dust on Kianga Road adjacent to homes.
5. Community
Issue Detail Conditions
Notifications Required Nil All relevant notifications have been conducted. A notification list for FCNSW staff is available from the planner.
Permit to Enter Required
Boral Timber Mill A Permit to Enter has been authorised for the use of Nobles Fire Trail for timber haulage through Lot 10.
Pests/Weeds Myrtle Rust/other weeds/pests
Is known to occur in Eurobodalla Shire. To prevent further spread the crew/haulage operators must ensure all harvesting machinery, equipment and vehicles heading west from Eurobodalla Shire or south into Victoria are checked and all infected vegetation removed.
Forest Permits 5 apiary ranges are occupied. Contact Name Site # Contact
Bee Permit holders must be contacted by the HC at least two weeks prior to use of any log dumps that are occupied by bee hives.

6. Infrastructure
Infrastructure Conditions
Control Lines for Post Log Burning
In this compartment, post log burning must be prevented from entering the private property and areas of regeneration within the future treatment areas.
Control lines to be constructed by the crew are indicatively mapped on HPOM, however final location will depend on snig tracks and areas harvested.
The HC must liaise with the Protection Coordinator during harvesting to more accurately plan where control lines are required.
7. Harvesting Conditions
Silviculture Type Harvesting Objectives and Condition for each stand condition
STS Heavy
(FMZ 4)
In 2008, this compartment was planned to be harvested under a two-cut regeneration harvest STS heavy regime, with the objective of producing sawlogs and creating canopy openings where appropriate for regeneration.
The harvest area is predominately mature to over mature Spotted Gum, Stringybark and Ironbark, in predominately uneven-aged stands. The objective of this harvest is to harvest all commercially available trees to create canopy openings and ensure mechanical disturbance creates a suitable seed bed for regeneration of the stands.
Crew to retain well formed seed trees of preferred species at ~40 m spacing
HC to instruct crew to retain patches of quality advanced regeneration where they occur.
Crew to remove all merchantable stems not marked for retention and ensure mechanical disturbance creates a suitable seed bed for regeneration.
The crew is responsible for protecting retained seed trees and retaining patches of advanced regeneration.
Future Treatment Area
(BA offset)
As mapped. To be retained for future harvesting treatments and to manage IFOA basal area limits for this harvesting event.
Monitoring The HC must conduct Basal Area monitoring in areas treated with STS Heavy and STS medium.
Any changes to treatment and offset areas need to be endorsed by the Operations Planning Manager.
