I’d like to welcome everyone, all last year’s visitors and all new visitors, we are delighted that you have chosen to join us....and we hope that you have a really enjoyable time with us, whilst you sample the array of beers, lagers and ciders we’ve put together.

This is our second Beer Festival and is certainly bigger than last time with the involvement of breweries from around the world. Posters and merchandise have been winging in from all continents and bottled beers have been generously donated by Rogue Brewery of Oregon, Sierra Nevada Brewery of California and Kimmel of Latvia.

Not to be missed out many English breweries have helped us out and a special thank you goes to Thatchers Cider of Somerset, who have supplied all the ciders for the festival. We mustn’t forget to thank Brendan Leyden of Bury’s own Leyden Brewery who, yet again, as helped us source the beers - and is still brewing our incredibly successful Forever Bury beer (Give it a try!).

Naturally, we’d like to thank Pannone & Partners for coming on board to back the event and also all the other sponsors and advertisers who have readily done their bit to back us. In return, we sincerely hope that you take note of their details and try and give them something back in return for their generosity.

Also a special mention and thank you goes to two Shakers favourites who have come forward to sponsor beers at the festival - Preston North End’s Chris Lucketti and David Nugent. They’ll never forget the time they spent here and the memories they left us with but I often wonder if ex-players really realise what they mean to us fans! Anyway, I’m hoping that they will both pay a visit at some time during the Festival.

An addition to the Festival set up this year is the new dedicated website www.fb-beerfestivals.co.uk. Look for the photos appearing on here. Next year it’s hoped to have the posters designed earlier and put on the website and when breweries/pubs/companies around the world are contacted, we’ll ask them to go on the site, download a poster, put it up in a pub and send us a picture of people looking at it. We should have an interesting display at the next Festival!
